A lot of puppies struggle with stairs initially.

For Sushi,
the stairs felt scary and overwhelming.

So instead of forcing or dragging her,
we slowed things down,
used gentle leash guidance,
and helped her work through the hesitation step by step.

Confidence grows through successful experiences,
not pressure.

One thing I really appreciated here:

the kids asked before petting him ❤️

And because Kai was comfortable and calm,
the interaction became beautiful for everyone.

Dogs deserve respectful interactions too,
especially around strangers and children.

Always ask before petting someone’s dog ❤️

Dogs don’t rely on vision the way humans do.

They use scent,
memory,
environment,
and connection.

Tuffy couldn’t see me here,
so he immediately started searching.

No commands.
No panic.

Just calmly using his nose
to track me down.

And honestly,
moments like these show how deeply dogs stay connected to the people they trust.

Let dogs use their nose more 🐾

One of the biggest fears parents have:

“What if my dog runs away?”

But when enough time is invested into the relationship,
many dogs naturally choose to stay connected to you.

Notice something important here:

No commands.
No leash pressure.
No constant talking.

Loki briefly keeps walking straight,
realises I changed direction,
and chooses to reconnect on his own.

Sometimes constant micromanaging,
repeating commands,
and leash tension only adds noise.

The goal isn’t just control.

It’s connection.

Relationship changes everything.

Confidence grows through experiences.

First time OFFLEASH outdoors.
First time swimming properly.
First time really opening up around another dog.

At the start,
she was unsure,
constantly sniffing,
hesitating,
and staying disconnected from the group.

But slowly,
nature,
movement,
freedom,
and healthy social interaction started changing her.

She followed the pack.
Played.
Had zoomies.
And eventually cruised through the water confidently.

Sometimes dogs don’t just need obedience.

They need experiences that help them feel like dogs again.
Every dog deserves safe experiences like this ❤️

nrichment is a huge part of behaviour work.

Sheeba struggles with predatory behaviour around cats,
so along with training, we also focus heavily on helping her regulate and decompress.

Activities like licking and problem solving through Kong help engage the brain, encourage calmer emotional states,
and give dogs healthy outlets.

A calmer dog often learns faster.

Multi-dog household? Training two dogs together is a completely different challenge 😂

Different personalities.
Different learning speeds.
Different levels of clarity.

Bullet was still trying to figure out the command…

while Lego confidently entered the wrong crate instead 🤦‍♂️😂

But with repetition and consistency,
both dogs eventually understood exactly what was expected from them.

Progress > perfection.
