If you plan on getting a puppy or doggo or just one, the first thing to teach them other than toilet training is their own name.
Everyone wants their dogs to enjoy their freedom and play around and the best way to ensure that is making their recall as strong as possible!
With a strong recall, you could let go of your dog in a garden, the park or in your society without having to worry about your pup getting lost. Calling out their name should be enough for them to make their way back to you.
There are many ways to teach recall, you start at home and then slowly move to more distracting environments. You can use a piece of food and show your dog massive amounts of excitement as rewards for responding. You have to convince your dog that you are the most fun person around so that he is attracted to you.
You and your family members can sit around the house and call out to the pup and give it a piece of food along with a lot of encouragement and praise for responding and keep doing that till their recall gets strong enough. Just 10-15 minutes a day, to begin with is good enough.
Recall is one of the most crucial commands to teach your pup to ensure its freedom and get them to come back to you when called upon.
