Milo’s match ready 💙💛
He might be a bit greyer these days, but Milo’s still flying the Tipp flag and backing the boys to bring Liam home! 🏆🐶
From the early days of Arra Vets to now, he’s been my right-hand pup — and there’s no question where his loyalties lie.

(Unlike some of the team... 👀 Aoife might be from Cork, but we won’t hold that against her... this week 😅❤️💛)

Let’s see your Premier pets!
📸 Snap a photo of your furry Tipp supporters and tag us — we’ll share our favourites in stories all week!

This one is very special 💛

Dónal took it upon himself to sit down and interview Aoife the Vet — and it honestly melted me. Watching my little boy ask big questions and Aoife answering with her usual patience, warmth, and humour reminded me just how lucky we are to have a team like this at Arra.

Aoife has been such a huge part of our clinic family — our clients love her (and their pets do too!), and she always brings a calm, caring presence to even the busiest of days. Donal wanted to get to know her a bit better… and now I think he’s ready to start a whole series! 🐶🎤

Who should be next for a Donal interview?
Let us know in the comments! 😊

This week marks 10 years since I took over Arra Vets.
I was only three years out of college, with a two-year-old baby at home and a big dream of running a clinic that felt personal, caring, and part of the community.

Milo was in the photo I took back then — and somehow, he’s still here beside me today. A bit older and wiser (just like me), but still my constant companion.

The past decade has been full of learning, growing, and moments I’ll never forget. But what has meant the most is you — the clients who’ve supported me from the start.
I’ve seen your pets through every stage of life — from puppies and kittens to grey muzzles and tough goodbyes. I’ve shared in your joy, your worry, your grief, and your laughter.
Some of you have become friends. Many of you have become like family.

Thank you for letting me care for yours, and for helping Arra Vets become what it is today.
Here’s to the next 10 🐾💙

“This is your friendly warning from me and Biscuit… it doesn’t take a heatwave for dogs to get heatstroke.”

Even on an average Irish summer’s day, the sun + humidity can be too much for our pets.
Biscuit loves his walks, but we stick to early mornings or late evenings — and skip them altogether if it’s too warm.

🚫 No walks during peak heat
🚫 No leaving dogs in cars, even for a few minutes
🚫 Hot pavements = burned paws

If your dog is panting heavily, drooling, or unsteady — it could be the start of heatstroke. It’s a true emergency.

Please share this to help others keep their pets safe — and if you’re ever unsure, give us a call. We're always here to help 💛

“Tiny pests. Big problems.”
Ticks aren’t just gross — they carry dangerous diseases like Lyme disease and can attach to your pet without you even noticing.

Once they latch on, it can take just 24–48 hours for disease transmission.
💡 And yes — dogs can pick up ticks in gardens, parks, and even on a quick walk.

➡️ Regular checks are important, but prevention is key.

✅ NEW: 12-Month Tick & Flea Injection Available!

Protect your dog with a single injection that lasts all year.
No monthly pills. No spot-ons. Just peace of mind.

🦴 Call us on 06231439 or message us today to book your pet's yearly tick protection!

🌟 Pet of the Month: Peaches 🌟

This month we honour the beautiful Peaches — a true little warrior who has shown extraordinary bravery and resilience during her cancer treatment journey. 💪💕

Peaches first came to us when her family noticed a small swelling under her neck. They trusted their instincts and brought her in promptly. On examination, we found enlarged lymph nodes and carried out a full diagnostic workup — including blood tests, imaging, and biopsies. The results confirmed lymphoma, a type of cancer that affects the lymphatic system.

With a solid treatment plan in place, Peaches bravely began her weekly chemotherapy sessions. Through every visit, she never failed to greet us with her signature tail wag and smile. What’s been just as heartwarming is the dedication of her incredible family — especially her two young humans, who accompanied her every single time and were always by her side. 💛

Peaches, you are the very definition of courage. And to your amazing family — thank you for showing what compassion, commitment, and love truly look like.

We’re proud to stand beside pets and their people during the toughest of times. Early detection and family involvement can make all the difference.

📌 If you ever notice unusual swellings or lumps, don’t wait — book a check-up. Trust your gut. We're here to help.

🐾 Happy Father’s Day to the Dog Dads, Cat Dads & Accidental Pet Sitters! 🐶🐱

To the dads who said "we're not getting a dog".....and now carry said dog around like a baby 🍼

To the dads who claimed "I’m not picking up p**p"...
…and now have a favourite p**p bag brand 💩

To the dads who swore "the cat won’t be allowed on the couch"...
…and now sleep on the edge so Sir Whiskers can stretch out 🛋️

We see you. We salute you. And we hope you get a nap today — before the next walk, feed, or emergency toy surgery.

Happy Father’s Day from all of us at Arra Vets! 🧡

(P.S. Yes, the dog did get you a card. The cat… not so much.)

🎥 “They’re adorable — but they’re struggling.” 💔

We love our flat-faced friends — the Frenchies, Pugs, Bulldogs and more. Their snuffly noses and big eyes win hearts in seconds. But behind the cuteness can lie a lifetime of health issues: 💨 difficulty breathing, 🌡 overheating, 🦷 dental crowding, and even 💤 poor sleep due to airway obstruction.

As vets, we see the daily struggles these dogs can face — and how much their loving owners want the best for them. That’s why we made this video: not to shame, but to raise awareness and encourage informed choices.

✅ If you already have one of these breeds, there’s lots you can do to support them — from weight management to surgical interventions that improve their breathing.
💬 And if you’re thinking of getting one, we urge you to learn more about what these dogs really need to thrive.

❤️ This is a passionate topic for us, because we care — about the dogs and the people who love them.

📢 Help spread the word. Share this post. Let’s speak up for better breeding, better care, and healthier futures for these beloved dogs.

🌿🐱 Cat-approved enrichment alert!
Our wonderful vet Aoife has been busy growing fresh cat mint for our dedicated cat room — and the feline verdict is in… they LOVE it! 💚🐾

Enrichment like this helps reduce stress, encourage natural behaviours, and make vet visits that bit more enjoyable for our whiskered patients. 😸✨

Just another way we’re working to create a calm, caring environment for every cat who visits us 🐈💕
