As we head into early January, many of us are already thinking ahead to the 2026 endurance season – planning training, refining management, and making sure our horses’ wellbeing sits firmly at the heart of everything we do. πŸ΄πŸ’š

That’s why this upcoming webinar from the Scottish Endurance Riding Club is such a brilliant opportunity – and yes, Endurance GB members are very welcome to sign up too.

πŸ“… Understanding Equine Behaviour and Enhancing Horse Welfare
πŸ—“ Wednesday 7 January 2026
⏰ 20:00 – 22:00 (online)
πŸ’» Live on Zoom
πŸ’· Just Β£5 per person

For a very modest Β£5, you’ll hear from two exceptionally well-known and respected speakers whose work sits right at the intersection of performance, behaviour and welfare.

πŸ”Ή Dr Gemma Pearson BVMS Cert AVP (EM) MScR CCAB PhD FRCVS
Director of Equine Behaviour at The Horse Trust and Lecturer in Equine Behavioural Medicine at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, Gemma is the only RCVS-recognised specialist in Equine Behavioural Medicine. Alongside her clinical and academic expertise, she has also competed up to advanced level in endurance – so she truly understands our sport from both sides of the fence.

πŸ”Ή Mr Roly Owers MRCVS
Chief Executive of World Horse Welfare, Roly brings decades of experience in veterinary practice, welfare advocacy and policy. He plays a key role in shaping welfare standards at national and international level and has been involved with organisations including the FEI, British Equine Veterinary Association and British Horse Council.

This promises to be a genuinely informative and thought-provoking evening, ideal for anyone wanting to start the new season with a deeper understanding of equine behaviour and welfare – whether you’re aiming for your first social ride or building towards bigger goals in 2026.

✨ Can’t attend on the night? No problem. The session will be recorded, and the link will be sent to all who sign up. The recording will also be available afterwards via the Club shop for Β£5.

⏳ Sign-up closes at 16:00 on Wednesday 7th January, so don’t leave it too late.

Excellent speakers, practical insight, and outstanding value for money – this is one winter webinar well worth adding to your diary.

A huge thank you to Reidy's Newtown for hosting the meeting and a lovely lunch! Skinny jeans were a bad choiceβ€¦πŸ˜‚ Time for a bit of rest for the members and their ponies over the holidays, but the committee are already organising the first three months of events for 2026 which we plan to make regional events for all. This shift highlights the critical importance of diagnostic-led parasite control β€” and that’s where we come in.
