We’re delighted to welcome Veterinary Nurse Muireann to our team!

After completing a BSc in Veterinary Nursing in Athlone, she has continued to follow her passion for companion animal practice.
Muireann is very kind and caring and can be often found in the cattery or in the isolation kennels giving a sick inpatient extra cuddles and encouragement.

When she’s not caring for patients, she loves getting creative. Having also completed a Level 5 qualification in Art and Design, she enjoys making fused glass pieces and creating fine-line drawings.

At home, she’s kept busy by her two cats, Fudge and Harry, who she adores.

A fun fact about Muireann is that, after driving for years, she decided to take on a new challenge and earned her motorbike licence. She now loves exploring new destinations and heading off on weekend adventures.

When we did the animal spirit quiz, Muireann’s is the tiger spirit animal, which represents intuition, confidence, and trusting your instincts — qualities that fit perfectly with veterinary nursing. 🐯🧡🐾

Little Maggie all set for home ❤️‍🩹, photographed here with Vet Nurse Muireann getting ready to be discharged, back to her sprightly little 14 year old self. Maggie had presented to Vet Hilda the previous day very unwell and we were very worried about this little senior lady. We did some diagnostics and she was diagnosed with pyometra/ infection of her womb. Once she was stabilised, that afternoon she was prepared for her surgery and the little trooper recovered well and the next day she was like a new girl ❤️‍🩹. Was just so great to see here eating her breakfast the next morning and out pulling on the lead for her walk, tail wagging. She was a ⭐️ patient & we look forward to seeing her back for her post op checks 🥰.

Sorry to have very sad news for someone
But a white and brown terrier was found deceased yesterday in Nenagh 😢. His body was found just outside ballygraigue court estate. Entire male dog, no collar and not microchipped unfortunately so have been unable to make contact with his owner. If anyone knows his owner/ if owner sees this, please contact us on 06733725

Millie is ready to leave clinic life behind and settle into the cosy, comfortable home she truly deserves.

After being found as a stray with a very large chronic wound along her back, Millie was taken into the care of Tipperary Friends of Animals and has spent the last while recovering with us here at A Country Practice Vets. Thankfully, her wound has healed beautifully and she is now ready to find her forever home.

Millie is an older lady with a very gentle, relaxed nature. She doesn’t ask for much — just good food, a warm spot to nap, and someone kind to share a lap with. She absolutely loves warmth and will happily follow the sunshine around the house before curling up for one of her many naps.

We would love to see Millie spend her days in a calm home where she can be spoiled and comfortable. She would make the loveliest companion for someone looking for a quiet, gentle cat to share their home with.

We had the lovely Dove & Patch in for the day and they were super patients. Dove was spayed and Patch was neutered and they were such a sweet pair, very gentle doggies who both loved all the cuddles and they were so brave about being somewhere different for the day. We hope now they recover well and we look forward to seeing them back in for their rechecks ❤️‍🩹🥰.

Little Foxy all cosy recovering from her general anaesthetic & spay surgery 🥰, she was the bravest girl and was happy out chilling with us for the afternoon before heading home. There are lots of health benefits with spaying female dogs and it is something we advise on a case by case basis. We hope little Foxy rests up and has a good recovery ❤️‍🩹.
