A little info on older dogs.
We here at the kennels give prescribed meds to any dog that is on medication. We do not inject .Oral meds only.
Older dogs do well in kennels and we take great care to keep them warm and comfortable with shorter walks and play time.
If any problems arise you will be contacted and a vet visit is a must.
We mind a lot of older dogs here and they are a joy to mind.
All information about health for any dog is discussed at time of arrival.

Did you know that Kildangan Cattery is part of Kildangan Kennels.
We are now up and running and taking booking.
We are so looking forward to this next chapter of the kennels.
So same as the kennels booking early for Easter and summer is essential. Full vacations are required just like the dogs.

Hope all is well with everyone after the storm.
Am doing a office clear out of the left behind items,leads and toys.
Am hoping to pack it all up for animal charity.

Hi to all.
A quick reminder to check all vacs and kennel cough are up to date for the coming year. Very important for your dog and the dogs in our kennels. Also all cats must be fully vaccinated and arrive in a fully secure cat carrier .We are looking forward to another year of looking after your dogs and cats and having some fun.
As usual if you have holiday plans get your booking done early as high season summer is always very busy here in the kennels.🐾🐾

Wishing all my customers old and new and many more to come,the very best new year.
We are looking forward to 2025 for some new adventures.
New cattery opening in mid February,and our kennels will be in full swing also.

Exciting News.
We are at long last extending the kennels to board cats. Its been a dream of ours for a long time now .We would hope to open in January 2025.
We are so looking forward to this new chapter for boarding cats as well as our beloved dogs.
Please let me know if you have a cat and do you place them in a cattery when on holidays and what you would expect as regards their care as its a new start for us.
Watch this space.

Hi to all.
I don't do much posting on Facebook.
But I would like to thank everyone for another great summer season. Its been great year all round with a few ups and downs and as I always say we never stop learning and improving each year.
I would also like to thank my girls and my family for the ever ending help and commitment during the high summer season.
Also my sister who looked after both my dogs and kennel dogs while we had a short holiday in Oct.
Still a few places left for Christmas but not many.
We are looking forward to another busy Christmas and heading into 2025 with renewed energy and improvements.
Big thank you to all my customers and of course the lovely dogs.

We are now fully booked till mid August. No space for bank holiday.
Please make sure your drop off dates are correct as we can't change them
You can always change the date if you want to pick up early.
Am very grateful for being so busy but we have to tighen dates and time keeping to make sure the kennels run well and all dogs have a space.
Delayed flights are always a problem so if possible.other arrangements can be make for pick up if running late.

As conditions become warmer, we have some good advice for keeping pets safe and healthy;

Do keep your dog indoors
Do make sure your dog has plenty of access to shade if outdoors
Do make sure there is plenty of fresh water available for your pet
Don’t take your pet out between 11am and 6pm on hot days
Do take your pet for a walk very early morning or very late evening when the sun has gone down in cooler temperatures
If your pet is older, overweight or brachycephalic take extra care on very hot days it may still be too warm early morning or late evening to take them out without risking heat stroke
If your pet is brachycephalic take extra care that they don’t overheat in warm weather, it doesn’t need to be a very hot day for a brachycephalic pet to get heat stroke out in the sun
Make sure the pavement/ground surface you’re walking your dog on is not too hot for your pet – don’t forget they don’t wear shoes!
Do play with your pet indoors and use interactive toys to keep them mentally stimulated
Never leave your pet in a car in hot weather in any situation
