BIG chomp from a small turtle! 🐢✨

These shelled friends are not picky! Vietnamese pond turtles, also known as the Annam leaf turtle, are opportunistic omnivores that eat both plant and animal matter.

One of the world’s most endangered species, they weren’t seen in the wild for 65 years from 1941 until their rediscovery in 2006 🌍💚

When it’s time for a treetop hangout, the whole troop shows up 🐒🌿

At Dublin Zoo, our white-naped mangabeys love grooming each other and leaping through the branches - playtime and bonding all in one ✨

Fun fact: their white “napes” aren’t just stylish. They help mangabeys spot each other as they move quickly through the forest canopy 👀🌳

POV: Trying to get your BEST angle 📸

Aung-Bo's selfies are trunk-tastic from the very first attempt, but who could resist more pics when you look THAT good!

👂 Take a look at those ears! Did you know Asian elephants have notably smaller ears than their African elephant counterparts?
🏜️ One reason for this is African elephants live in hot, open savannas, and their large ears help release body heat when they flap them.
🌡️ Asian elephants, on the other hand, live in more temperate, humid environments, where there is less need for heat dissipation, so their ears are smaller and rounder! 🐘

Making a splash for Irish seal conservation! 🦭🌊

Our Dublin Zoo Conservation Science team headed to Seal Rescue Ireland for a hands-on day with our amazing conservation partners.

From cleaning seal pools to preparing nutritious diets for the pup, it was all part of supporting SRI’s incredible mission to rescue rehabilitate and release seals back to the wild.

Each year they care for over 100 seals while raising vital awareness for marine conservation across Ireland.

Together we’re giving seals a second chance at life 💙
