These boys were absolute stars during their visit ✨ Not only were they incredibly friendly and well‑behaved, but they’re also absolutely stunning! true best boys 🥹 💕

Odin also has two different eye colours, a harmless variation called heterochromia, which gives him an especially unique look 🩵🤎

🔬 Under the microscope today 🪳 Felicola subrostratus, the cat biting louse! 🐈

These ecto-parasites are specific to cats and are relatively uncommon thanks to preventative treatments. They’re more likely to appear in older cats, unwell cats, or cats who are struggling to keep themselves groomed.

They’re usually spread through close contact with an infested cat, so cats outdoors, especially those that may socialise with strays, can pick them up from one another.

They can actually be seen without a microscope 👀. Look for tiny pale or yellowish insects moving through the fur, along with small eggs (nits) attached firmly to the hairs close to the skin.

If you notice a flaky coat, extra scratching, or fur that doesn’t look quite right, it’s worth getting the cat checked or making sure their parasite treatments are up to date ❤️🐾.

These two popped in for their health check and parasite treatment today. Our RVN Jessica had been caring for them previously while their owner was away, so they’re officially VIPs here at Castle Vets 🐾✨

Albert’s Adoption Appeal 💙
Albert is still patiently waiting in our clinic for someone to open their heart and home to him. 🥹
He’s recovering amazingly, and his paw isn’t slowing him down! He’s so sweet and affectionate, and a real character. 🥰

⭐️ Looking for a Home – Albert 💙

Albert is a lovely little tuxedo boy who was found by a kind member of the public with a paw injury. He’s recovering really well and enjoying all the TLC.

He’s a sweet, friendly boy who loves attention and has the loudest purr! He’s also been neutered while in our care.

Albert will still need a little time on cage rest while his paw continues to heal, so he’ll need a family who are happy to help him through the final stage of his recovery.

Say hello to these absolute cuties always getting up to mischief ! 🐾🥹

If you find kittens out alone, please remember to look out for the mother cat too. Where possible, try to safely trap and bring her in for spaying. This helps prevent further unwanted litters and supports the health and wellbeing of both mum and her kittens.🐱

This is the little kitten who was found yesterday. 🐾
She’s now cleaned up, well rested, and making herself comfortable. 🥰 Today she’s been very busy working, making biscuits (far too many biscuits!) and greeting clients at reception. We all absolutely adore her and love seeing her sassy little personality shine through. ✨🫶🏻
