⭐️⭐️PLEASE READ⭐️⭐️

As a dog walker, it is my responsibility to make sure every dog in my care is safe, healthy, and happy, and that is always my priority🐕😊

With the hot weather we are having and going through the summer, I know cancellations can sometimes feel frustrating, especially when your pup loves their walks, but please understand that I will never take unnecessary risks with your dogs in extreme heat. Heatstroke in dogs can happy so quickly and once it begins and turn into a serious situation/ emergency.

Please don’t think I’m being dramatic when I say I may refuse or cancel walks during hotter temperatures. I promise every decision is made with your dog’s wellbeing in mind.

Pavements can burn paws, humid air makes it harder for dogs to cool themselves, and some dogs are much more at risk than others, especially larger breeds, fluffier breeds, flat-faced breeds, older dogs, overweight dogs, and dogs with underlying health conditions.

If temperatures are too high during the middle of the day, I will always try to offer safer alternatives where possible, including:
🐾 Early morning walks
🐾 Late evening walks (although temps are still quite high, and after a day of 30° the pavement may be hot! (So may not always be possible)
🐾 Drop-in visits for enrichment, cuddles, feeding, garden time (brief toilet break), and company instead of your dog's normal walk 🐕

I completely understand a dog's routine is important, and I know many dogs love getting out and about, but no dog has ever died from missing one walk. However heatstroke can be fatal 😥

Thank you to all my lovely customers being so understanding in my decision to keep your dog safe. It is always my priority ❤️

Please remember:
☀️ If the pavement is too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws
☀️ Always make sure dogs have access to fresh water and shade
☀️ Avoid the hottest parts of the day
☀️ Watch for signs of overheating such as excessive panting, lethargy, drooling, vomiting, or collapse
