Thinking about getting a dog? 🐶💭
Before you take the plunge, now is the perfect weather to test…

STAGE 1
Step 1: Put on your least waterproof coat🥽
Step 2: Load your pockets with high grade treats🥩
Step 3: Go stand in a park… in the rain… TWICE a day for about an hour. 🌧️
Step 4: Go home dry and clean the mud off your shoes and clothes.
Step 5: Repeat. For several days. 😅

If you still find yourself smiling, chatting to random dogs, and patting your soggy pockets saying, “Yes, you gorgeous, wet, smelly and muddy cutie… feast,”
then congratulations, you might just be ready for dog ownership❤️

Because dogs are amazing. But they’re also muddy, energetic, weather-ignoring little beings who will still expect their walk when the sky is falling ⛈️☃️🌪️☔️

If that idea makes you smile instead of cry… congratulations you have passed stage 1 🐾

Some of the other many stages to consider before committing …
Sleepless nights. Vomit. Poo. Toilet training. Chewing of your prized possessions and furniture. VET BILLS. Dog Hair everywhere. Sacrificing holidays because you can’t find a trusted sitter or kennels with space, or afford a holiday after you’ve paid for the dog to go on one 😵‍💫

🌞 Hot Weather Dog Walking Policy 🌞

With the hot weather here (and more on the way!), I want to let you know how I keep your dogs safe and comfortable during their walks 🐾💛

🐕‍🦺 20–23°C
Walks go ahead with extra care, shorter routes, shade, and plenty of water.

🐕 24–26°C
Walks are limited to 15–20 minutes and only during cooler times of the day (early mornings or evenings).

🚫 27°C and above
Walks will be cancelled or replaced with garden visits, toilet breaks, extra cuddles, or shaded playtime. Safety comes first!

🔥 I always check the pavement using the 7-second rule, if it’s too hot for my hand, it’s too hot for their paws.

💧 I carry water on every walk and make sure dogs get rest in shaded areas.

🦮 During summer months when we are experiencing higher temperatures, dogs will always be walked on leads, in shady areas where they will be allowed time to sniff around & toilet.

🐶 Brachycephalic breeds (like pugs and bulldogs), older dogs, puppies, and those with health conditions may be offered garden visits instead of walks.

📩 I’ll always message you if I need to adjust plans due to the heat. Thank you for your trust and understanding, your dog’s wellbeing is always my top priority. 🐾

🐶 Is Your Pup Street Legal? 🏷️🚶‍♂️

Did you know it’s actually the law in the UK for your dog to wear an ID tag when out and about? According to the Control of Dogs Order 1992, EVERY DOG in a public place must have a tag with their owner’s name and address, otherwise, you could face a fine of up to £5,000! 😱

But it’s not just about the rules, it’s about keeping your furry friend safe! 🐾
Even the best behaved pups can get distracted by a squirrel, or an exciting new smell.
A tag means they can always find their way back home if they get lost.

For extra convenience (and a speedy reunion!), putting your phone number on the tag makes it quicker to be contacted, getting your pup back where they belong! 📞🐕

So, if your dog’s ID is looking a bit worse for wear (or missing altogether!), take this as your sign to update it today!

We give YuMove to our dogs but it’s on repeat direct from the manufacturer. If you buy your Pets from Amazon or any other outside supplier, please follow this advice.
