Just hanging out with their chums 💕

I love analysing footage of our sessions, and this clip is the perfect teaching moment which I’d like to share with you 💕

The big black dog and the large cream dog are absolute best friends who play beautifully together every single session. They have an incredibly strong bond and a long history of safe, fun play long before a new puppy came along into the mix!

But look how adding a new element changes the dynamic! If you watch closely, you'll see the cream dog doing some beautiful behavior called ‘splitting’ or ‘body buffering’.

Because the little pup is her brand new baby sister, she steps right in between her best friend and the puppy whenever the energy gets a little too high. She isn’t being ‘off’ toward her buddy, she’s just using her body as a peaceful shield to say, ‘Hey, I love you, but let's keep it calm around the baby’. Notice how beautifully the black dog respects that boundary and swerves away! 🥰

This is excellent dog communication and a great reminder of how socially smart our pups really are ❤️

Let’s talk poo 💩

Your dogs poo gives us good information about their health and digestive system and how well it’s working (or not!).

It’s really important to track this and note changes, and if there’s anything unusual, take action if you have any concerns.

Good digestive health is directly linked to your dog's immune system and overall wellbeing. When their poo isn't ideal, it's a sign their body needs a little help, whether that's through dietary adjustments, natural supplements, or sometimes medication.

Always speak to your vet if your dog has a constantly upset stomach as this is something which needs addressing 🐶

Why are we different? 🐶

We offer dog socialisation walks with a Trainer 🐾

Our social groups at Pet Trails are run by a qualified, experienced trainer who understands dog body language, knows how to introduce dogs safely, and takes care to match the right dogs together from the start, so every dog gets the most out of their session and genuinely loves their time with us in a safe, structured group.

Sessions take place in our beautiful private 5-acre field, which is fully enclosed, peaceful, and completely away from the public, so we don’t have to manage off lead dogs or people and situations out of our control. Just our happy dogs, loads of space, and a trainer on hand throughout to guide the interactions and play ❤️

Over the years we’ve worked with some wonderfully complex dogs on a 1-2-1 basis, and watching them grow into confident, sociable dogs through careful introductions and the right friends is honestly one of the best parts of what we do. The transformation in many of these dogs is a really beautiful thing to be part of.

So if you’d love your dog to build genuine social skills in a safe, supportive environment led by a trained, qualified and experienced team, we’d love to have them join us.

Message us to find out more or book a taster session.

End of the weeks fun and frolics! ❤️

We’ve had a blast! 🙌

All the dogs went out and played safely and carefully with shade, lots of hydration and careful management of the groups.

We had sniffinars, paddling pool fun and water sprinkler games, scent work and cuddles and all dogs returned home happy and safely 💕

Thank to everyone for their understanding and flexibility for any necessary changes we had to make. Particularly for any early starts and especially for the cancellations we felt were necessary to keep all dogs safe regarding the weather 😎🐾❤️

It was a great week and we all safely enjoyed the sunshine🌞

Have a lovely weekend everyone and we will see you all again next week! ###

The week so far (Part 1) ❤️

Thank you so much to all the clients who’ve helped us to cancel, reschedule and change times of walks due to the heat 🙏😎

With careful planning and management, most of our dogs have all gone out, had fun and been safely returned back home, after having a lovely time playing with their friends 💕

Lots of paddling pool fun, sniffing games, staying in the shade and ice cold AC on in the cars!

We’ve all have all had a great time 🌞

Beat the heat with these super easy DIY Pupsicles! 🐾☀️

If you’re looking for a quick way to keep your dog cool, hydrated, and occupied for a bit, you have to try making these. With our elderly dog Dora we have to be extra vigilant about her hydration levels, as she’s not a big one for drinking water, so these hydration pupsicles on hot days are a life saver! Something fun, healthy and hydrating which all our dogs love.

The best part is you can just mix and match whatever dog friendly stuff you have in the kitchen. Here’s what I threw into this batch today:

💧 The liquid: A dog hydration drink for an extra boost with salmon, blueberries and sweet potato, (but plain water works totally fine too)!

🐟 The good stuff: Tinned sardines, tuna, (make sure any oil etc is washed off) and a handful of dry duck kibble

🐶 A little creaminess: A spoonful of lactose-free yogurt

🦴 Surprise treats: A couple of small training treats hidden inside (biscuit nibbles and sprats)

🎣 The Handle: A fish skin twist / chew bar so the whole thing is edible

Just layer it all up, mix together, freeze, and let them enjoy! You can even use simple dry kibble or wet food with added water! It’s a lifesaver for warm days or when you just need 20 minutes of quiet time! ❤️

Save this for later and let me know if you try it! Dora, Toffee and Cookie were so hot today and after their pupsicles they were happier! 🥰

Following on from last week’s post about supporting fellow businesses, we want to shine a massive spotlight on a local favorite: Doggy Dinners! 🐾

Based here in Maidstone, they are our absolute go to for keeping our dogs healthy, happy, and thriving.

Here is what makes them so special:

The Goods: An exceptional array of premium raw food, natural dog treats, and supplements.

The Expertise: They are incredibly knowledgeable and always ready to help you find the right fit for your pooch.

True Ethics: What we love most is their unwavering commitment to canine welfare. They don't just sell food, they actively echo the ethical, kind, and respectful treatment of dogs in everything they do, which we is incredibly important to us as advocates for force free treatment of dogs and promoting standards of animal welfare 🐕❤️

Let’s give the massive chain stores a break this week. Instead, let’s show some love to an independent local business that genuinely puts dogs before profits!

Check them out doggydinnersltd or visit them in Maidstone to stock up on some yummy goods for your pooches! After all, they deserve to be spoilt right?! 💕
