Please bear with us - due to significant illness it is likely we will be down a vet for the next couple of weeks.

We are trying to find locum support but currently we are struggling as they are often booked up well in advance during the summer. We are also trying to rearrange the diary as much as possible to minimise impact to all of our lovely clients however it is very likely we will need to change some non urgent appointments and elective procedures.

We appreciate these changes are disruptive and can be awkward but we really are trying our best and appreciate your patience at this time.

🐰 Rabbit Awareness Week – Celebrating 20 Years! 🐰

This week marks the 20th Anniversary of Rabbit Awareness Week, and this year's theme is "Feeding Bunnies Better."
Providing your rabbit with the right nutrition is one of the best ways to help them live a long, healthy and happy life.

🌾 Hay (85–90% of the diet)
Hay is the most important part of a rabbit's diet. It helps prevent dental disease, reduces the risk of gut stasis, and encourages natural grazing and foraging behaviours. Grass hays such as timothy, meadow and orchard hay are ideal for adult rabbits.
Avoid feeding muesli-style diets, as these can lead to selective feeding and poor nutrition.

🥬 Fresh Leafy Greens (10% of the diet)
Offer a variety of fresh leafy greens every day. Safe options include supermarket greens and rabbit-safe garden plants. Popular choices include basil, parsley, cabbage, spring greens, common mallow, apple leaves and plantain to aim a few. Aim to feed 5–6 different leafy greens each day—variety is key!

🥣 Pellets (5% of the diet)
Pellets should only make up a small proportion of your rabbit's daily diet. Most adult rabbits only need 1–2 tablespoons of a high-quality pellet food per day.
Using snuffle mats, stacking cups, treat balls, puzzle feeders, or simply scattering pellets around their enclosure encourages natural foraging and enrichment

🏡 A Rabbit-Friendly Environment
Providing a safe, spacious environment with plenty of room to run, forage and binky helps encourage a healthy appetite and supports both physical and mental wellbeing.

🐇 Rabbits Need Rabbit Friends
Rabbits are highly social animals and thrive when kept in compatible pairs or groups. Living together encourages natural social grazing and foraging behaviours, helping them feel safe and secure.

Veterinary Receptionist Week!
Perfect time to highlight what a wonderful team of highly skilled people we have running the practice from front of house.
This job is not for the faint hearted!
We are so lucky to have a really kind, caring, devoted and highly skilled group that offer our clients the best care and attention.
They are often under a lot of pressure multi tasking taking calls, booking people in, taking payments, dealing with medication collection and more. Their ability to (usually) carry it all out with a smile never ceases to amaze me.
They are often the people who are a shoulder to cry on but in some cases also bear the brunt of frustration with situations that are often out of their control.
We appreciate every single one of our fabulous team out the front and want to thank them for all they do. We couldn't do it without you - you're superheroes in our eyes!
