Meet Bruno, one of the senior dogs at the Oldies Club who has been helped by a grant from the Pets Foundation

The Oldies Club specialises in rescuing and rehoming older dogs, aged seven plus. Twelve-year-old Bruno arrived at the rescue after his owner sadly became homeless and had to make the heartbreaking decision to give him up. With love and care in foster, Bruno blossomed, regaining strength in his legs and feeling much better after dental treatment, which was made possible by the Pets Foundation grant.

Bruno has since been adopted, and his new owners shared, “We cannot imagine our family without Bruno! Everyone who meets him says they cannot believe he is 12 years old and say how lucky we are to have found him. We do feel so lucky and grateful to the Oldies Club for connecting us with Bruno, our family’s favourite member.”

New puppy Peaches is already living up to her Pets at Home mini explorer bandanna.

Peaches may only be three months old, but owner Ashleigh is keen to help her explore as much as she can. So far, they have been camping and paddleboard adventures together, and Ashleigh has many more adventures planned.

Ashleigh, who shops at Pets at Home Dunfermline, said, “I believe a dog’s world is only as big as owners make it, and I want Peaches to explore. I’ve always been active with my family dog, Amber, and Peaches was always going to follow Amber’s lead. We’re lucky enough to call Bonnie Scotland home, and we plan to keep exploring it together. One day we even hope to go abroad on a road trip and see parts of Europe!”

Two-year-old Indi isn’t fazed by the recent wet weather and refuses to let a bit of rain get in the way of her daily walks.

She loves wet weather, especially when owner Lou keeps things fun with her favourite tug toy, even if it means a bit of extra clean-up when they get home. Thankfully, Lou has some go-to essentials from Pets at Home to make the post-walk clean-up a breeze, no matter how soggy they get.

Lou said, “Indi loves all weather, so a bit of rain doesn’t stop her enjoying herself on a walk. But as a German Shepherd, she has a double coat and a big lion’s mane around her neck, so she gets absolutely soaked! We usually give her a good towel dry, then pop her in a drying robe on her bed with her favourite Pooch & Mutt treat. On really wet days, we use a raincoat to keep her dry and mud-free.”

“She did the rescuing, really.” Pets at Home customer Charly says that rescue cat Evelyn has given her a new sense of purpose.

When Charly first met Evelyn, she was injured, alone, and in need of care. After thoroughly searching for any owners and getting her the vet treatment she needed, Charly took Evelyn in. What she didn’t expect was how much Evelyn would help her in return.

Charly, who suffers from vasculitis and ehlers danlos syndrome , said, “I’ve got a few health issues and was down on my luck mentally. That day something told me I needed support, and that’s the day I found Evelyn. She’s given me companionship and a purpose. She proves to me that things can get better when I didn’t think they could. She did the rescuing, really.”

Now inseparable, Charly and Evelyn are regulars at Pets at Home Sheldon, where they love picking up Evelyn’s favourite silver vine sticks.

When it comes to nap time, three-year-old Stripes knows exactly what he likes: a Wainwright’s bed from Pets at Home.

Stripes has loved his Wainwright bed since he was a tiny puppy. So when it was time for a new one after moving house, he headed to Pets at Home Wi******er with owner Amber, where he picked out the exact same bed again.

Amber said, “There was no messing around, he just knew it was the one for him. When we got home he didn’t leave the bed all night and it took a lot of convincing to get him to go to his crate before bedtime!”

When Kyle and his son Fred unexpectedly welcomed Luna, a seven-month-old rehomed puppy, into their family, they wanted to make sure she had everything she needed to feel safe and settled. With little time to prepare, they headed straight to Pets at Home Cramlington for help.

Kyle said, “We were a bit frantic. Luna needed to be rehomed quite suddenly from an unsuitable situation, so we needed to get supplies quickly but also needed to make sure we had the right things. The staff at Cramlington were brilliant and made sure we had the essentials like a bed, puppy food, toys and Luna’s first tag. They even explained Pets Club and how to claim discounts. They made the whole experience so much easier. It gave us everything we needed to settle her in properly.”

Luna is already thriving in her new home, and Kyle says she’ll be joining them on their next visit to the store to say thank you in person.

This gentle giant comes to us on a regular schedule for his grooming treatment, he upgrades to our deshed treatment because although he is short coated he sheds his hair a lot! So that’s where we come in and give him a good brush and use our specially formulated shampoo and conditioner 💚

Look at this handsome boy 😍
He popped in for his usual treatment which included a bath, blow dry, trim up and our deshed 💚
He was a hairy boy so our deshed helped remove any dead coat, removing this dead coat will help his skin be able to breath and a good brush will help stimulate new hair growth

Even smooth haired dogs need grooming, giving a regular bath will help remove the dirt and dandur from there coat and will help stimulate new hair growth, if you upgrade to our deshed package we will help your pooch shed all there dead coat and help the skin feel less compacted
