Spawning again this morning and this time I had a female chagoi and a female ochiba released their eggs.
This was a natural spawning today rather than hand stripping.

I must say I’m impressed with the maruyama kohaku tosai.

That’s a metre wide net to catch raggedy Anne.
It’s time to try her for spawning so wish me luck. She is good linage and males are both ISA so I’m hoping for good things.

Mizuho ogon a stunning Doitsu variety of koi and an early variety too.
Good examples are sort after and are available in yellow (ki) too.
These are tosai ( 1 year olds)

Same pumps (12000)
Pond no.1
1 x 90’ bend (2 inch pipe)
Pond no.2
3 x90’ bends (2 inch pipe) plus 1.5 inch inline 70 watt uv.
Now think how much bends make a difference in pump flow.
To improve even further I could try 3 inch pipe work but I’m happy with pond no.1.
I will redo pond no.2 when it’s convenient.
