We dodged the rain on Friday 🌧️ and had a lovely day in the field with the dogs 🐶
Then — thanks to a couple of cancellations due to illness — I actually had a day off yesterday 🥳
(Which I spent cleaning the house… living the dream 😳🤨😂)

Managed to grab a couple of photos of Astrid and Penny, who are both doing brilliantly with their training. Very different characters, but both an absolute joy to work with 🥰

We’re heading into December now…
🐾 KC classes are full and everyone is practising hard for their exams
🐾 We may have spaces coming up in January — the waiting list is open so drop me an email
🐾 January brings new Beginners & Improvers Scentwork classes
🐾 Canine First Aid is on 1 March
🐾 And in February I’ll be launching a brand-new 3-week Impulse Control Course (dates coming very soon — can’t wait!)

About the Course – Canine First Aid Level 2 (VTQ)

This half-day course is perfect for anyone who lives or works with dogs. Understanding canine first aid gives you the confidence and skills to act quickly in an emergency — helping prevent a situation from worsening before veterinary help arrives. It can genuinely be life-saving.

The course combines both theory and practical learning, covering a wide range of scenarios such as:
🐾 Bandaging
🐾 Dog CPR
🐾 Shock
🐾 Seizures
🐾 Choking
… and much more!

You’ll get hands-on practice and plenty of guidance throughout.

On completion, you’ll receive a CPD-certified certificate valid for 3 years, plus access to a full Pet First Aid Handbook via ProTrainings and a first aid resource pack.

Ok, back to dog photos… but I’m quite sure Mars the Pygmy Hippo will make another appearance at some point 😂🦛

Our Tuesday KC classes are in full swing and everyone is working hard towards their exams 🫣🤓

Scentwork Improvers on Thursday nights are doing brilliantly — some teams are working on Kongs, and our more experienced teams are now starting to search for gun oil.
Honestly, the dogs never fail to amaze me 🤩🐾

Target training Hippo style - love Mars the baby Pygmy hippo 🥰 been following him for a while now and he never fails to make me smile.
Lots of zoos now use clicker training and targets to train their animals for stress free husbandry procedures but of course none quite so entertaining as Mars. 😍

A few photos from the last few days 📸🐾🐾
Astrid braved the rain yesterday – a lovely wire-haired fox terrier, recently adopted and an absolute sweetheart 😍 The rest of the day was very soggy, but we still managed a full day of 1-1s while dodging the downpours 🌧️😂🥶

Thursday evening = Scent Academy improvers!
• Our first class worked on Kong, blind searches, indication and generally levelling up their skills – brilliant teamwork all round 👏
• Our second class is a more experienced group and they’re now starting to add a new scent into their searches 🔍 Watching the partnerships grow is honestly the best part of scentwork.

If you fancy giving scentwork a try, we’ve got new beginners classes starting January 2026. You honestly won’t regret it – it’s great fun and suitable for dogs of all ages and breeds 🐶💙

Positive Dog Training For You & Your Dog

Our aim is to help dog owners get the best from their relationship with their pet!

We provide 1-1 dog training, including improved behaviour in the home or out and about - turning struggles into strengths. We offer workshops, puppy & dog training classes, classes are usually based at Wolverley C.E. Secondary School. Blakeshall Lane, Kidderminster, DY11 5XQ however we are currently offering a range of classes and 1:1’s via Zoom..

Classes are Kennel Club approved so dogs can work towards their Good Dog Citizens Award. All training uses positive reinforcement and are games based. We are also available to support you with any queries or issues.

With modern reward-based fun training methods, consistency, patience and perseverance, there is no problem that we cannot help you with. We use scientifically proven methods of dog training that will build the bond between you and your dog.
