🐾✨ It’s Take Your Cat to the Vet Day! ✨🐾

Did you know that regular vet visits are just as important for cats as they are for dogs? 🐱💛
But we also know that vet trips can sometimes feel stressful – for both cats and their owners. That’s why at Mulberry House Vets we are proud to be a ⭐️GOLD⭐️accredited Cat Friendly Clinic.

At our Binfield practice, we’ve gone the extra mile with a dedicated cat-only consultation room and waiting area, helping to make visits as calm and comfortable as possible. 🌿🐾

Here are some top tips (from International Society of Feline Medicine guidelines) to make your cat’s journey stress-free:

✅ Pick the right carrier – sturdy, secure, and ideally with a removable top.

✅ Acclimatise early – leave the carrier out at home with blankets, toys, or treats inside so it feels like a safe space.

✅ Use pheromones – sprays or wipes can help reduce anxiety.

✅ Cover the carrier – a light towel can shield your cat from overwhelming sights and sounds during travel.

✅ Safe car placement – the floor behind the passenger seat is the most secure spot.

✨ Remember: the key to a stress-free vet visit is preparation!

If you’d like more advice on helping your cat feel calm before their appointment, our team is always happy to chat.

💜🐾 Because every cat deserves a fear-free visit.

🌸 Did you know about our Forget Me Not memorial? 🌸

We know how deeply our pets embed themselves into our hearts - they are our family, our companions and our greatest comfort. Saying goodbye is never easy, but remembering them can be a beautiful part of the healing process ❤️‍🩹

At Mulberry House Vets, we have created a special online space called “Forget Me Not” where you can share memories, photos and tributes to your beloved pets who are no longer with us. It’s a gentle, heartfelt way to celebrate the joy they brought into our lives 🐾 🌈

🕊️ You can visit the memorial portal anytime on our website: https://mulberryhousevets.co.uk/memorial-page/

Whether you want to light a virtual candle, write a message or simply take a moment to read the tributes from others, our Forget Me Not page is here for you. 💜

🌟 Surprise! Donatello is actually… Donatella! 🐱✨

We welcomed this gorgeous little kitten into the practice today — originally thought to be a boy, but surprise twist… she's a girl! So, Donatello the Ninja Turtle is now Donatella Versace, and she’s already strutting down our reception desk (aka Catwalk!) like a supermodel. 😻💅

Did you know? At our practice, we love our feline friends so much, we’ve gone the extra mile for their comfort:
🐾 A separate cat waiting area
🐾 A cat-only consultation room
🐾 And we’re proud to be awarded Gold Standard
Cat Friendly Clinic status by the ISFM! 🏅🐈

Your cats deserve VIP treatment — just like Donatella. 😉

Pet Superstar of the Month: Harley! 🌟🐾

Meet our incredibly brave patient, Harley!
This sweet Doberman came to us after her owners became aware that something was wrong and sought immediate help.

Harley was feeling lethargic and had a bloated abdomen, so vet Alex examined her right away. After some x-rays, it was confirmed that Harley had GDV (Gastric Dilation Volvulus), a life-threatening condition where the stomach bloats and twists, cutting off blood supply to vital organs. 😔

Symptoms of GDV include a bloated abdomen, retching, restlessness, and can even progress to collapse and difficulty breathing if left untreated.

Thanks to her owners’ quick action, Harley was diagnosed and treated without delay! Alex performed life-saving surgery to untwist her stomach, and we’re thrilled to report that her stomach and other organs were still healthy, all thanks to the prompt treatment. 🙌

It’s been a long road to recovery, but Harley is officially back to her old self, demanding treats during her visits! 🎉 Well done, Harley! You’re truly a superstar in our eyes! 💖🐕

With the current heatwave 🌡️ in full swing, it’s so important to keep a close eye on our furry friends.

Did you know that when it’s just 25°C outside, pavement temperatures can soar to over 50°C? 🔥 If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws.

Watch out for signs of heatstroke – like excessive panting, drooling, wobbliness, or bright red gums – and make sure they’ve always got access to shade and water. If you’re ever unsure, give us a call.

Keep cool, stay safe, and be more like Ruby! ☂️🐱🖤💦

We’d love to see how your pets are keeping cool, pop your pictures in the comments 👇🏻 📸

🦈 We're Gonna Need a Bigger Reception... 🦈

Say hello to Chip the Labrador, who came in today for his castration — and stole the show with possibly the best post-op buster collar we’ve ever seen... it’s a shark! 🐾🦈

Chip’s owners clearly understood the assignment and have made sure he’s recovering in style (and safety!) Forget the cone of shame — this is the cone of fame 😄

He’s been an absolute superstar today and we couldn’t resist snapping a few photos. Chip, you’re jaws-droppingly adorable! 💙

The Mulberry Dream

Alex, Louise, Kate and Sharon have worked in the veterinary industry for over 60 years and been colleagues and friends for a long time. Over numerous coffees and conversations, we realised our dream was the same: to open a veterinary practice where we could enjoy providing exceptional quality care, combined with the really personal touch we feel is so important when caring for your pets! Come and have a Mulberry Welcome tour and meet us if you want to know more.......
