One of the things I love most about training students is seeing where they go afterwards…
I don’t want to train somebody, hand them a qualification and then never hear from them again. I genuinely love hearing what my students have been up to, how things are going and what they are building for themselves.
If they ever need me, I’m still here. It doesn't matter if that is a question, a bit of reassurance or just somebody to talk something through with, that support does not stop when the course ends.
So rather than me tell you Jo’s story, I thought I would let her tell you herself…. 💜
Here’s Jo’s story:
“My journey into dog grooming 🐾
I first contacted Tracey in December 2025 to discuss starting the iPET Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and Salon Management. Despite it undoubtedly being one of the busiest times of the year, Tracey made time for me and was so welcoming and enthusiastic from the very beginning.
My training has been mostly one-to-one, working with a variety of different breeds, it’s been one of the most enjoyable things I’ve ever done. I’ve absolutely loved every minute of it and have learnt so much along the way.
Before this, I’d always worked in office based roles, mostly in accounts. However, in August 2025 I was made redundant, which sadly coincided with losing my dad. I understandably took some time out to grieve, reflect and think about what I really wanted from life and what direction I wanted to take next.
I struggled to find another employed position that fitted around family life, and having always had a love of dogs, I began to think about turning that passion into something of my own. I’d already had a little tinker with grooming our own Springer Spaniel, Kushi, before starting my training (bless her!), so perhaps the seed had been planted without me even realising it!
What started as an idea has grown into something I’m genuinely passionate about. I’ve now taken the leap and created Kushi Dog Grooming, my own one-to-one grooming business in a purpose-built cabin at Cresslands Touring Park near Bourne.
My incredibly talented partner Drew, and friend Erik, have put so much time, effort and love into building the cabin throughout the summer heatwaves, and helped me bring this dream to life.
I’m really excited to begin this next chapter, continue developing my skills and provide a calm, relaxed and individual grooming experience for every dog that comes through my door.
I never imagined that redundancy would lead me down this path, but I’m so glad I took the opportunity to try something different. Tracey has given me so much confidence and support throughout my training, and I know she’s always there on the end of the phone if I ever need her.”

This is exactly why I love training so much, because the course might finish, but I still get to watch these next chapters unfold!
