Get to know me!

Hi, I’m Tracey, the owner of Posher Paws Dog & Cat Grooming and the Posher Paws Training Academy, and I thought it was probably about time I properly introduced myself again.

I’ve been grooming for around five years now, and from the very beginning I wanted to create the kind of grooming experience I would want for my own dogs.

For me, it has always been about treating every dog as an individual rather than just another appointment in the diary. Some dogs need a little longer, some need a bit more reassurance and some just need us to go at their pace, and that is absolutely fine 🥰

Then around three years ago, I started training the next generation of dog groomers too, and I honestly love that side of the business just as much. Seeing students come in at the beginning of their journey and watching their confidence and skills grow is one of the best parts of what I do!

There is definitely plenty more I could tell you, but I’ll save some of that for another day....

Cockapoo coats can be very good at hiding what is happening underneath... they might look perfectly fluffy on top while knots become tighter and tighter close to the skin 😬

Yes... you might be brushing them at home, but are you getting through the full coat?

There is a big difference between brushing over the fluffy bits and being able to pass a comb through from the skin to the ends.

The longer you leave between appointments, the harder it becomes to maintain the longer style you might want. Once matting becomes tight against the skin, we cannot simply sit and brush it all out without causing discomfort and stress.

Sometimes clipping the coat short is the kindest and only welfare-friendly option available. It is not because your groomer is lazy or could not be bothered, it is because your dog’s comfort has to come before the haircut you had in mind!

Regular appointments and proper brushing at home give us the best chance of keeping your Cockapoo’s coat comfortable and manageable. Grooming is not just about how your dog looks, it is an important part of caring for them too.

Posher Paws is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced dog groomer to join us at our spacious new salon in Whittlesey.

To be completely upfront, this is not a trainee position.

We’re looking for somebody who:
🐾 Holds a Level 3 dog grooming qualification
🐾 Has hands-on experience in a professional salon
🐾 Can confidently complete grooms to a high standard
🐾 Understands that every dog deserves patience, care and individual attention
🐾 Takes pride in their work and the experience they provide

Initially, the position will be for two to three days per week, with the possibility of a full-time role for the right person who can work across both of our salon locations.

You’ll be working in a large, light and airy salon, using premium products and following our one-to-one, non-rushed approach to grooming. We want every dog to receive the time and care they deserve, and we’re looking for a groomer who genuinely shares that ethos!

Location: Whittlesey

About the Role

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about dogs and cat grooming and takes pride in producing high-quality grooms. You’ll be working as part of a small, welcoming team in a busy salon.

Our Ideal Candidate

● Level 3 qualified (preferred)
● At least 2 year’s experience working in a professional grooming salon
● Confident working independently and as part of a team
● Able to complete all bathing, drying and preparation work to a high standard along with all breed standard grooms to a high standard
● Reliable, friendly and has a genuine love for dogs and cats


All equipment will be provided.
(Except scissors)

Hours & Pay

This is an ideal part-time position. Working hours and pay will be discussed at the interview stage and will be based on experience.
