❗️❗️21st January Covid update❗️❗️

There has been so much uncertainty within the pet grooming industry over the past week or so. PIF (pet industry federation) have changed the wording over and over which has made it very hard to ascertain whether grooming was able to continue during the lockdown or not.

I have been reluctant to update again just incase things changed, however, environmental health at FDC have confirmed we should be following information from the Government website and therefore we are allowed to continue grooming “welfare cases”, as long as we are complying with the social distancing rules. Any groom that can be delayed until lockdown is over, should be.

During this time, I am unable to carry out grooms on short haired breeds such as Labradors, Frenchies, Staffies etc, nail trims or baths only. If you have an appointment booked in which falls outside the up to date criteria, I will unfortunately have to cancel and will be in contact with you. I also won’t be accepting any new clients during the lockdown.

As I’ve said before, if you’d rather not attend your appointment, I fully understand, and you can contact me to reschedule. If you or any member of your household/bubble are showing symptoms or self isolating, again please contact me to reschedule, do not attend or ask someone else to bring your dog for you.

Hopefully nothing changes, but if it does, I will let you know.

❗️❗️Covid 19 update ❗️❗️

DEFRA have revised their wording regarding pet grooming during the national lockdown. It now states “Groomers may accept a dog to be groomed by appointment where this is necessary for the animal’s welfare and not simply for aesthetic reasons. Welfare reasons could include on veterinary advice for a skin condition or excessive matting causing the pet discomfort. When routine grooming can be delayed without affecting the pet’s welfare until the national lockdown is eased it should be put off”

This means that unfortunately unless your dog is suffering from excessive matting or a veterinary diagnosed skin complaint all grooming appointments are to be cancelled with immediate effect. I will be in contact with those who will be affected.

If you feel your dog is suffering with either of the above, please contact me so I can assess the individual need and arrange a welfare groom, if needed.

As soon as I am able to open again, I will update you all but in the meantime, if you have any worries about your dog coat maintenance, please feel free to contact me. If I can help I will!

After Boris’ announcement last night I’m happy to confirm that we, as an industry are able to continue trading during lockdown.

I am already working with safety measures in place to keep us all safe, and wanted to reassure you that in between appointments, all of my equipment and room is sterilised and thoroughly cleaned before the next dog arrives.

I also wanted to take this opportunity to reiterate that, all customers are to be greeted at the door (no one is allowed to enter my home), I have a hook for you to attach your dogs to. I will remove your collars/leads and sterilise them during the groom. On collection, I will bring the dogs back out to you. Payment by bank transfer is preferred however I will accept cash if the correct amount is put into an envelope so I don’t have to handle it. At the end of the day, I will text you to arrange the next appointment.

As before, if you or anyone in your household have symptoms of Covid, please contact me to rearrange your appointment, do not attend or ask someone else to bring the dog for you.

Lastly, I understand these are very worrying times, so if you would prefer not to venture out during lockdown, I fully understand and ask that you contact me to rearrange/delay your appointment.

🐾💖 2020 was an extremely challenging year for all of us, but your continued support throughout has meant the absolute world to me and my little business....So from the bottom of my heart 💜 I want to say thank you to each and everyone of you 🐾💖

💖🐾Unless anything changes, I will remain open, however if you or anyone in your household show any symptoms of COVID-19, please contact me to rearrange (even if it’s last minute). Do not attend your appointment💖🐾
