Movement, Endorphins & Good Dogs 🫶

Lovely exploration of the countryside west of Wi******er 🌾
9 humans & 9 doggos stomping the footpaths, there’s magic that happens when we move intentionally in a pack, it’s a very natural thing to do and our canine companions love it!

We had Nala, Maya, Margot, Cooper GWP, Nacho, Luna, Charlie, Cooper Viz and Aleana. A mix of dogs, some just coming to hang out with their pals and others using it as a safe space to work on sticky stuff.

Blessed to have days like these, my body aches but my heart is full 🙏🥹

Started out with Honey & Hugo, play is always a priority for these two!
Then I welcomed Ralf, Rubix & Welly into the Kaela and K9s Pack! What a dream it is to care for another pointer and to be walking a viz again, Welly, the baby dachshund is only 5mo and the sweetest soul. 🤎

Then it was onto the beach for Tink’s Social Walk Assessment. It was lovely to see Tink again, now I didn’t meet her at her worst but it’s so hard to believe this girl used to be a serious, stress ball.
Human & dog aggressive, resource guarder, stranger danger - you name it, Tink probably had it. Lou should be SO proud of herself for the work she’s put into her girl.
Tink is joining social walks to continue getting around dogs and building optimism around dogs into this. 💪❤️

I am asked often how far I walk each day 👣

But I’ve never recorded my walks so it’s always been a mystery, until today…
Today I walked about 19.5km | 12.1miles which is just scraping a half marathon, I actually had no idea it was that much 😳😂
Obviously every day is different and this was a busier day but I almost want to go back to not knowing how far I’ve gone, I definitely don’t give my body enough credit 💌

Celebrating International Women’s Day ❤️‍🔥

I am lucky to be surrounded by such incredible, inspiring, humble and kind women and that’s something I will never take for granted.

It’s a support system that drives you to become the best version of yourself, I have family & friends of all ages who have shaped me to the woman I am today.
Most are studying degrees or working hard in an apprenticeship, some run competitively or raise the next generation, others organise community events in their interests like hikes, book clubs and meditation sessions, lots of them run a dog centered business like me while others run a business in their niche.
There’s hobbies, passions and drive in every woman I know. ⚡️

The beauty of it is that we are all unique and have our own goals personal to us - I’m in awe watching these ladies flourish and what opportunities come next for them. 🌷

Here’s to being the most raw and authentic version of yourself this International Women’s Day and forevermore. 💞

Grouping dogs 🐾🐾

Being a dog walker, you have to think about introducing dogs and this comes with a lot of consideration into behaviour, energy and social status.

I run my business a little differently to most dog walkers and don’t do any set groups. But I feel like I almost got into a little routine of who goes with who, over the past weeks I’ve been making a conscious effort to mix more dogs it’s really good for them being a social species and good for me in prep for social walks though slightly different as I only have one pair of eyes and on the socials everyone will be in control of their own dogs.
But I have really enjoyed changing things, today Hugo & Tāne met for the first time which was interesting as Hugo really enjoys play and interaction whereas Tāne likes to do his own thing so it was nice practice for Hugo to just walk with another dog and recalling away.
And Bear was successfully paired with Rosie which is awesome and they had a lovely time. It’s really good for Bear to meet a variety of dogs but for the time being while we continue work on his herding behaviours I’m conscious of who he comes out with to ensure a positive walk for everyone!

But really pleased with today and the last few weeks with mixing up the dogs, always good to have a change and put some work in 💖☀️

Social Walk Assessment Day 🎉

Both me and Nala are knackered wow 🤣

Pepper 🫑 will be coming along to continue his social skills after completing the Honest Hounds reactivity reset, get lots of positive reps in and help his stranger danger aswell.

Charlie 🐕 is joining for continued socialisation after lots of hard work was put in by his owner to help him not be so rude and bolshy.

Barnaby 🐻 our lovely rottie will be coming along to help improve his currently awkward social skills while his mum begins to chip away at his social status to take some stress of him.

Luna 💛 is joining just to get her more confident around other dogs and as a good kickstart to life skills she is only 9mo!

George 🦁 continuing work on his social skills and enjoying a long walk to get quality uptime in!

Hetty 🖤 she will be coming along so that we can guide her to make better social choices and not be quite so rude, her owners are working on her general fizziness there’s a lot of it 😆

And the lovely Lumi the staffy who I didn’t get a picture of, Lumi and her owners will be working on fulfilling those breed needs, again reducing the fizzy energy and setting some boundaries while increasing their status and lowering hers so she can join in on the socials and start making some better decisions around other dogs!

Missy social walk assessment 🤎

This morning we met gorgeous Missy, naturally I am in love already, she’s a very fun girlie.

Missy is a working gsp so is very good at doing all the stuff but struggles when left to make her own choices!
I am going to work with her mum to help build her up to coming along to the social walks so she can hang out with the other dogs and start making some better choices 🌟
