She Was My Reason — This Is Her Legacy
My love for animals has always been a huge part of who I am, but Bessie — the dog in this photo — was truly someone special. While I grew up with dogs, she was the first I had the privilege of calling my own. She wasn’t “just a dog”; she was my soul dog, and she changed the course of my life in ways I’ll always be grateful for.
Bessie struggled massively with anxiety. New environments, unfamiliar people, everyday situations — they were overwhelming for her, and her fear often came out as reactivity. At the time, finding support felt nearly impossible. Boarding wasn’t an option, and sitters understandably couldn’t take on the risk. It meant missed holidays, limited time away, and a constant feeling of isolation.
But beneath that anxiety was the most loyal, loving companion you could imagine.
Through patience, dedication, and countless hours of training, Bessie made incredible progress. She learned to trust, to feel safe, and eventually to enjoy life in ways that once seemed out of reach.
She is the reason this business exists.
I created this service because I know firsthand how difficult it can be to find understanding, experienced care for reactive dogs. While things have improved and there are now more fantastic professionals offering support, many owners still face the same challenges I once did.
With my experience, I provide calm, safe, and compassionate care tailored specifically to each animal’s needs — especially those who may require a little extra understanding.
Although I sadly lost my beloved Bessie in February, her legacy lives on in every animal I care for.
