🦙 Alpaca fleece is an incredibly luxurious, durable, and unique natural fiber. Known by the Incas as the "Fiber of the Gods," it is warmer, lighter, and much softer than traditional sheep's wool while being completely hypoallergenic.
🦙Once a year our alpacas get a hair cut and the fleece is used to make all sorts of lovely things.

🥇 Congratulations on your Trot Diagonals award.
🐴 Learning to rise to the trot makes the gait more comfortable for the horse and rider over long distances.
🐴Learning to recognise which diagonal you are rising on and be able to change it when necessary can help your horse to balance better when turning. It helps the horse to develop more even muscles and reduce fatigue.
❓Can you feel for your diagonal without looking?
❓Can you change your diagonal by standing for 2 beats as well as sitting for 2?
❓Do you remember to change your diagonal regularly when trotting in straight lines?
❓Did you know that rising on the ‘wrong’ diagonal for the last few beats before going into canter (rather than sitting) can be really helpful for encouraging a young or unbalanced horse to strike off on the correct lead leg?

Any suitable group lessons will show on your ECPRO booking account.

During the past 40 years we have taught so many children the arts of carriage driving, western riding, side saddle as pictured in these archive photos.

We've also had a huge amount of fun and have loved following the stories of the children, some who have grown up to run successful equestrian businesses of their own.

Another fantastic day out at Topthorn. Ponies and children all enjoyed themselves and we came home with plenty of rosettes. Mistral did especially well. We are very lucky to have this resource close by. Many thanks to everyone @ Topthorn Arena

🎈A special day today as we celebrate the amazing Lulabelle turning 30 years old! What a superstar she is, and we are so lucky to have her in our lives.

Over a quarter of a century ago she arrived at Valley Farm and during her time with us, she has learned and excelled at all the different equestrian sports we teach, she even produced a beautiful foal and now in her older years of semi-retirement she is proving very popular with the RDA.

An advantage for horses of learning lots of different equestrian disciplines is that it helps to keep them mentally and physically healthier for longer. Gentle sports like horse agility, western riding, long reining or hacking are especially beneficial for our older friends.

Lulabelle has inspired so many people. She has carried countless students through exams. She's helped people to learn vaulting, side saddle, western riding, horseball, polocrosse, and much more. She's been a friend to those in need, both human and equine and she is hugely loved and appreciated.
