Happy New Year to all our supporters.
The project and shelter would not be possible without your donations, post shares, the lottery and competitions.
Your support means the world to us but most importantly to the strays who would have no one to
care for them without us.
We've had a very busy year with 2025 seeing 29 adoptions overseas.
The numbers in our little shelter increased from 25 capacity to 38 because of sick dogs and lots of pups.
We continue to sterilise, feed and give veterinary care to around 100 beach dogs.
We sadly lost several of the public beach dogs due to illness or car accidents.
We also lost some of our hotel beach project dogs and several of our shelter dogs but at least in the time they were part of the project they had full stomachs and as much love as we could give them ❤️
Life for the strays in Mauritius is hard and they face many hardships and dangers everyday but
we try our best to keep them safe.
Non of this would be possible without the 4
PAWS Team and my heartfelt thanks goes to Prince Bushan, Freddie, Rudra, Sally, Maryam, Sambhavi, Chad and Ziqi for all their hard work.
I would like to give a special mention to Barbara Rebecca Elkaz who is an incredible lady who works tirelessly for the project whilst working full time and with 12 dogs of her own to care for. She is a formidable force and the project could not function without her.
So we now sign off 2025 and hope for an even better 2026 with your continued support.

A very Merry Christmas to all our supporters 🎄🎁❤️
We appreciate each and everyone of you that donates or shares our posts.
Everyone of you that has opened their hearts and homes to a Mauritian stray.
Our Christmas wish is that all strays find a home but we know that is unrealistic but for every one that we do find a home for, keeps us going.

Update on Christmas Competition 🎄⛄️🎁

Thank you so much to all of you that have entered the competition as all names are now taken 🎉❤️
This will provide funds of £1750 once the £250 cash prize is deducted.
This will help to pay for 3 vaccinations for our pups and also sterilisation and flea,tick and deworming.
You are all amazing supporters of The Project and Shelter and most importantly the Mauritian strays 🎄🎁❤️

This year it is to help us with the costs of our pups that need 3 vaccinations each, sterilisation, monthly flea/tick and worming treatment and daily food.

Please help us to raise the funds we so desperatly need to cover the costs for our pups. To give them the protection they need from disease with vaccinations, protection from reproducing with sterilisation and the monthly flea/tick and deworming treatment anc the daily cost of 3 meals a day.
We rely entirely on donations to cover the cost of all our shelter dogs and pups and the daily feeding of around 100 strays daily at the hotel anc public beaches on the east coast as well as any veterinary care they need.
Without your donations we just could not survive.

Did you know we have a sister sanctuary? That's right - Earth Dragons International Dog Sanctuary (EDIDS) is a dog rescue charity based here at the Retreat 🐾🌿

They rescue dogs from all over the world and support them as they recover from trauma linked to past experiences like neglect, abuse, torture, street life, breeding and more - as well as any health concerns 🫂

Once a dog has been rehabilitated, the sanctuary will search for their forever home! So if you're a dog lover and you're ever looking for a new best friend, make sure to keep EDIDS in mind. Adopt don't shop! 😌
