Who needs an excuse for a sweet treat?

Okay, so National Waffle Day might be an American celebration… but come on, who doesn’t love a sugar- or chocolate-coated waffle?!

Today we're celebrating all of our wonderful golden oldies, and the very handsome Monty, who belongs to one of our nurses, Bryony. 🐶

Senior pets hold such a special place in our hearts. They may have a few more grey hairs and enjoy a few more naps, but they give us just as much love, loyalty and joy every single day.

Quality Improvement Day – Bristol 🩺✨

A few of our team spent the day at the RCVS Knowledge QI in a Day seminar, learning practical ways to bring Quality Improvement into everyday veterinary practice.

It was great to see colleagues from theatre, wards, imaging and research all attending together—QI really is a team effort!

Charlotte's highlight: Learning more about human factors and recognising how much quality improvement is already part of what we do every day.

🔦 This week 'In The Spotlight'

Meet Juan – Our Ophthalmologist

Juan graduated from the University of Santiago de Compostela in Spain in 2015 and has since built an impressive career in veterinary ophthalmology. After working in small animal practice and completing a rotating internship in Spain, he moved to the UK in 2018, where he spent three years in first-opinion practice and earned a postgraduate certificate in veterinary ophthalmology.

In 2021, Juan began the European Residency Programme in Veterinary Ophthalmology and is now working towards his Specialist board exams. He's passionate about managing all types of ocular conditions, with particular interests in corneal disease and glaucoma.

Outside of work, Juan loves travelling, hiking, scuba diving, and cooking for friends.
