Everyone, this is the lovely Freda. Freda came to see me today for a full groom as she was blowing out all her dead excess undercoat and leaving her house covered in fur 🙂.
I love de shedding dogs! Isn't our Freda beautiful ❤️
(P.s this was only a fraction of the undercoat that I got out)
De-shedding offers a variety of benefits for your dog:
1. **Keeps Your Dog Comfortable**: A reduced undercoat helps your dog stay cool during the hot summer months.
2. **Prevents Tangles and Mats**: Removing loose hair helps prevent matting, which can lead to skin problems and may require shaving to address.
3. **Reduces Indoor Shedding**: With less loose fur, there will be fewer stray hairs on your clothes and furniture.
4. **Supports Skin Health**: By eliminating excess hair, air circulation improves, lowering the risk of skin infections.
5. **Aids in Temperature Control**: A well-groomed coat helps your dog better regulate its body temperature, providing protection from both the heat and the cold.
It's important to note that de-shedding is beneficial for all breeds, not just long-haired ones. While dogs like German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers, Newfoundland's and Huskies are typically associated with de-shedding, short-haired breeds such as Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Beagles, Labrador's and Jack Russells can have a significant buildup of undercoat that needs to be addressed
