Clifford 🧡 the gorgeous 14 week old Labrador puppy. What will we be focusing on:

- Engagement and focus outside of the house, around real life distractions
- Learning to disengage and respond to his name
- Exposure to different environments, sounds, smells and textures
- Learning that play is really fun.
- Creating a clear communication system, using reward markers.
- Clear Boundaries and understanding thresholds in and outside of the house.
- A solid recall
- Handling drills
- Settling in and outside of the home
- Loose lead walking
- Learning not to chase the family cats 🐈

The hope is that we are setting Clifford up to be a happy, confident, well rounded boy, who will take that with him into adulthood 🐶

A little before and after story.. 🥰

When I first met Ragnr he was petrified of near enough everything, confused and literally spinning with frustration. Rags was a stray that was running in and around a village for almost 9 days.
Today he the most chill, affectionate boy, living his best life with the best family!
Complete admiration for his owner, Nicola who did not give up on him, has put years of training into him and given him a second chance at life!!

Overcoming complex behaviours isn’t always about a quick fix, it takes consistency, often lifestyle changes, along with a whole load of patience and time. But if you are committed you put the work in you will see the result!

We love you Rags 🤎

Training your dog isn’t always about the fancy stuff and being active. Teaching your dog an ‘off switch’ is possibly one of the most beneficial things your dog can learn. This has to begin within the home. Here’s Mollie the WCS learning how to switch off 🐶🖤 if this is something you need help with please get in touch.

Bank Holiday Group Walk 🐶

This is what I call socialisation, a group of dog’s simply being neutral with one another enjoying their own walk. Many of these dogs are overcoming reactivity in different forms, so seeing them co-exist like this means so much to me 🥰🐶 trainer

Mollie and I have been working on her responding to her name.. here’s how it’s going 🖤🤍

Stop whistle practice! Such a great skill for your dog to learn. His little face brings me so much joy 🧡

Tip Tuesday- If your dog can’t walk like this in your garden, how can we expect them to do this on your regular walks? So if you want perfect loose lead walking nail it in your garden before moving on to other low distraction areas and build it slowly from there 🐶

Handsome Neo here is learning how to settle in public places, a skill that many dogs struggle with. I always advise anyone I am working with to incorporate some time to settle and watch the world go by on their daily walks. It’s such an important and underestimated skill for your dog to have. Because everyone wants to be able to take their dog to the pub right!? If this is something you need help with, please feel free to get in touch 🐶

This post could cause some controversy but I’m just out here trying to keep it real as a busy working mummy to two little ones.

Daily life is busy and because of this I can’t always get Oakley out for a walk first thing in the morning, he often has to wait and we go at a more suitable time during the day. So something I do and you can too to help keep your dog busy is to scatter your dog’s meals rather than feed your dog from a bowl. This is not only a much more natural way for your dog to eat, it’s also much more fulfilling, brain engaging and helpful for those dogs that like to inhale their meals! If you don’t already, give it a try and let me know how you get on 🐶

Gorgeous Gus 💛 Gus’s owners reached out to me when he was 6 months old, for some advice and guidance. Being their first puppy they wanted to ensure they were doing all the right things by Gus and getting those all important foundations in for life. We have worked on engagement, play, impulse control, thresholds, recall, loose lead walking, breed specific outlets and much more. Because of their hard work and commitment, Gus continues to make progress and live his best spaniel life. I will hopefully be seeing Gus and his owners in my near future group training sessions 🥰 If you need help getting your puppy off to the best start please get in touch 🐶
