šŸ¾ Happy Fatherā€™s Day to All the Dog Dads! šŸ¾

Today weā€™re celebrating the men who carry poo bags in every coat pocket, who always say ā€œIā€™m not getting attachedā€ā€¦ and then sneak the dog into bed when they think no oneā€™s looking. ā¤ļø

To all the dog dads out there ā€“ thank you for the walks in the rain, the endless games of tug, and for loving our pups like family. You might not get macaroni cards or breakfast in bed, but youā€™re just as much a dad in your dogā€™s eyes (and letā€™s be honest, probably cooler).

A huge thank you to Craig, my amazing partner, for always being there for our dogs ā€“ for the cuddles, the care, the calm when they need it most. Youā€™re their rock, their adventure buddy, and their best mate. Weā€™re all so lucky to have you. šŸ’™ and Happy Anniversary (13 amazing years sharing every day together!)

This is Justin.

Yes, Justin. And he's just the besteat boy! His mum booked a 121 session as she'd been working with another trainer but wasn't sure what she was doing was working. This happens often and we often come in when other training doesn't seem to be getting the desired results.

Well this cracking little lad enjoyed some freedom, he's super friendly and had some lovely interactions with other dogs.

Previously he was reacting to dogs and the previous trainer advised he was kept on a short lead and to avoid ither dogs. This just made him so much more frustrated so we've got a plan in place to work on his recall, allow him more freedom to have social interactions without frustration and we will tackle the lead walking and hormone imbalance.

We always look at the dog infant of us and work out what is truly going on emotionally, physically and behaviourally. Then we put a plan for the individual dog, not just a textbook ai generated plan but one that is for YOUR dog.

With over 15 years experience its no wonder Justin's owner said we're the BEST!

Thunder is the most handsome boy!

Did you know that the "silver" colour in labradors is a mutation from the chocolate colour?

Anyway, we had a catchup session with Thunder to address his guarding the door and barking when anyone rings the doorbell. A few tweaks and a few simple changes and I'm sure he'll be keeping schtum when he has visitors!

This morning we met up with little Billy.

Billy was recently castrated and has been struggling not just with a change with his hormones but also struggles with certain things such as sudden noises, children etc. We had a deep dive into his emotions and how best to help him develop coping strategies and rewarded him for being brave and removing himself from situations.

His session was great and we have a plan to work to to help him.

Its so important to get the right advice when you see behaviour changes.

There is no one size fits all and its important to find a dog trainer who understands behaviour as well as breed traits, emotionality and manage expectations. Experience is almost as important as knowledge.

And find someone who is kind both to you and your dog.

They're the best kind of trainers!

Gorgeous Buddy finished his 5 session package with us and he has absolutely smashed it. Not only has his recall improved hugely but he really is the dog you can take anywhere. No dramas just a super chilled out little boy.
We have loved watching him grow and learn.
Well done Buddy, well and truly one of the Superhounds Family!

Can we all wish Louie well with his surgery today?! He's having spinal surgery to release the pressure on his spinal cord as a result of his spondylosis.

He was very happy to trot off with Colin his consultant, nit sure he'll be that happy when he realises whats happening....
