🎉🎉 The CPR team honestly can’t believe it, we’ve just reached over 9,000 followers 🎉🎉

We are absolutely blown away.

Running a rescue is heartbreaking and incredibly time-consuming. We spend hours every single day with the dogs, answering emails, making phone calls, and doing everything we possibly can to ensure our dogs are always at the centre of every decision we make.

Your support makes us feel so deeply loved and reminded that what we do matters. Thank you to every single one of you who likes, shares, donates, and follows our journey. We truly couldn’t do this without you 🐾🙏🥰

🐶 14 / 01 / 2026 - PLEASE READ, if you have submitted an application for one of our dogs 🐶

Due to the high volume of applications we have received for our currently available dogs, along with the large number of follow-up emails, we are unfortunately unable to respond to everyone individually at this time. Please rest assured that you will be contacted in due course — we are simply working our way through the email backlog.

🐾 Shelby Foster Plea 🐾

We’re relieved to share that Shelby is back with us after spending the night at the emergency out-of-hours vets. Thankfully, major surgery wasn’t required. Her pain and swollen tummy were caused by severe inflammation and a heavy parasitic burden, and she has now started treatment. We’ve also begun immediate care for her skin condition, with comfort and healing our absolute priority 💛

As Shelby begins her recovery, we’re urgently looking for a foster home to support her while we work through her skin issues, before she’s ready for adoption.

✔️ Can live as an only dog
✔️ Can live with other dogs if you have experience with skin conditions (a big bonus)
✔️ Full support provided by CPR throughout the foster period

📍 Foster homes must be within Deal, Folkestone, or surrounding areas.

If you feel you could offer Shelby the calm, caring space she needs to heal, please get in touch:

Thank you for being part of Shelby’s journey 🐶💙

💔 Shelby needs us tonight 💔

This is Shelby, a young crossbreed who came into our care after her Stray Service hold had ended. While we were already aware that she had severe skin issues, on meeting her for the first time we were extremely concerned by the size and hardness of her stomach, with our first worry being that she could be in pup.

Shelby was taken straight to the vets where an ultrasound thankfully didn’t show any puppies, but it did reveal something far more worrying, significant inflammation and some very concerning dark areas.

As a result, Shelby has tonight been admitted to an out-of-hours emergency veterinary hospital. She will be sedated and X-rayed in the hope of getting some clear answers. At this stage, it’s suspected she may have either a foreign body blockage or a closed pyometra – both of which would mean urgent surgery.

It’s going to be a very long night for Shelby and for all of us who are rooting for her. 💔 We will, of course, update you as soon as we know more.

In the meantime, if anyone is able to help, we would be incredibly grateful for donations towards Shelby’s treatment. Full donation details will be posted in the comments.

Thank you for standing with Shelby when she needs it most 🐾💙

An adult only home is required for Obi, a delightful 10-year-old Shih Tzu who has settled beautifully into foster care and completely charmed everyone he meets. Despite his years, Obi firmly believes he’s much younger, he’s lively, playful and full of character, and has quickly become a much-loved part of his foster family.

Obi is a pleasure to walk. He walks nicely on the lead, doesn’t pull, happily keeps pace and is generally friendly with other dogs he encounters, often choosing to politely ignore them. He enjoys getting out and about but is just as happy heading home for a cuddle afterwards.

Please ensure that you read Obi's full information on his rehoming post before submitting an application as we will be unable to respond to those that don't fit his criteria...

Little Pip’s world changed forever just before Christmas, when his much-loved owner sadly passed away. At 14 years old, he suddenly found himself alone and frightened, with everything familiar taken away in an instant. Thanks to the kindness of our rescue network, Pip was brought safely into our care and given the warmth, reassurance, and love he so desperately needed.

Now settled into foster, Pip has shown us exactly who he is, a sweet, quiet, gentle old gentleman who asks for very little. He doesn’t need long walks or busy adventures. What Pip needs is a peaceful home, a soft bed, gentle routines, and someone kind to be there for him during his remaining time.

We know adopting an elderly dog isn’t an easy decision, but offering a golden oldie a loving place to rest is one of the most selfless acts there is. Pip has known love his whole life, and after such a heartbreaking loss, he truly deserves to know it again.

We are looking for a calm, understanding home where Pip can enjoy his days in comfort and dignity, a home that will treasure him for exactly who he is, for however long that may be.

If you feel you could open your heart and home to Pip, please get in touch. Let’s make sure his story ends surrounded by warmth, love, and kindness ❤️

❤️Because every dog deserves to feel safe, right to the very end❤️

🐾 Razzle update 07/01/2026 🐾

We thought it was about time for a Razzle update for all of her wonderful followers.

Razzle came back to us in November with her skin in quite poor condition due to a long-standing skin issue. We carried out extensive testing, but unfortunately the results didn’t give us any further insight. However, with a change of food, medication, and regular bathing, she is now looking absolutely wonderful.

Her foster family have done an amazing job. Her skin is looking much happier, her fur is growing back beautifully, and she has settled so well into her foster home.

We continue to liaise closely with the vets regarding her treatment plan and will soon begin to gradually wean her off the medication and specialist food.

We hope you’ll all agree how far she has come — we are so incredibly proud of this beautiful girl. 🐾✨

🚨 Please whisper a welcome to this sweet girl, Patsy 🐾

Today we also welcomed Patsy, a 10-month old terrier cross, into our care. Patsy was found as a stray and has now completed her seven-day Stray Services hold.

Patsy is currently very unsure of the world around her, but she has been excellent so far in her multi-dog foster home. She has shown herself to be highly food-motivated, and appropriate boundaries will be gently introduced as she continues to settle and gain confidence.

Patsy is currently under full assessment and, like all of our rescue dogs, will undergo routine veterinary treatment before being made available for rehoming.

As we move into 2026, please continue to like and share our posts to help our dogs reach the right homes. Donations are always gratefully received, and we would like to thank all of our wonderful supporters, we truly wouldn’t be here without you.

🚨❤️ Please welcome scrumptious Louis ♥️

This week we have welcomed Louis into our care from a Stray Service, he is a 12-week old terrier cross puppy. Due to the circumstances surrounding his admission, we are unable to share further details at this time, what we can say is that he is now safe and settled in one of our loving foster homes as of this evening.

Louis has received his first vaccination and, given his age, he will be rehomed under a neuter agreement, the cost of which will be cover by the rescue at our partnered vet practice, as will his 2nd vaccination.

As we already have a good understanding of his needs and temperament we are open our application process, and all applications that fit his criteria will be considered once his 7-day Stray Services hold period ends on Monday, 12th January. All of our usual terms and conditions apply, along with a £500 rehoming fee.

Please note that Louis will not be rehomed to a home with very young children, please also do your research if you’ve never had terriers before, they are a wonderful but strong willed!

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Please find an adoption form link in the comments.

💙 Thank You, From All of Us at Cinque Ports Rescue 💙

As we look back on 2025, we are filled with nothing but gratitude.

Thanks to the incredible support of our adopters, donors, rescue partners and volunteers, this year has seen 46 dogs saved, each one given safety, care, and a second chance they so truly deserved.

Beyond those numbers, countless more dogs were helped through advice, support and collaboration, allowing many to remain safely in their own homes, or to be placed with trusted fellow rescues when needed.

None of this happens without our community. Every donation, foster space, transport run, shared post, kind word and open heart has played a part in changing lives, both canine and human.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing beside us in 2025. Together, we are stronger… and together, we save lives 🐾

🎄✨ Merry Christmas from all of us at Cinque Ports Rescue ✨🎄

As the year draws to a close, we want to take a moment to say the biggest thank you to every one of our amazing supporters, donors, rescue partners and volunteers. Your kindness, generosity and unwavering support make everything we do possible.

From the late-night emergencies and long journeys, to fostering, home checks, fundraising, sharing posts and opening your hearts and homes, your hard work and dedication have changed so many lives. Because of you, so many dogs have found safety, love and hope when they needed it most.

This Christmas, our thoughts are especially with all the CPR dogs still in our care, who are warm, safe and loved thanks to you. We couldn’t do this without our incredible community standing beside us every step of the way.

From every paw, wagging tail and grateful heart, and from all of the team at Cinque Ports Rescue, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year.

Thank you for being part of our CPR family 💙🐾🎄

Please welcome, Holly and Ivy, a mother and daughter duo 🐾

This pair were sadly dumped at the vets and when the stray services reached out to CPR for a space, we couldn’t have them spending Christmas in kennels. We’re grateful to be able to help and they will now serve the remainder of the stray hold with us.

At just 16 weeks old, this is not the start to life that little Ivy deserves and our heart ache for both of them

🎄Important notice🎄

Due to the festive period, we will not be answering any enquiries and neither Holly nor Ivy will be available for rehoming at this time.
Rehoming of our dogs will resume in the New Year.

Thank you for understanding and please keep this little family in your thoughts as they begin a much brighter chapter with us 🙏🙏

♥️If you would like to contribute to their care, please do so via the donation link within the comments and continue to like and share our posts❤️
