I'm incredibly proud to have won the 2026 West Yorkshire Business Awards – Dog Walker of the Year for Paws on the Move.

What started as a dream just two years ago has grown into a business I love, and I couldn't have done it without my amazing clients, family and friends. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and trusted me with your wonderful pets.

I am absolutely overwhelmed and incredibly honoured to have won the 2026 West Yorkshire Business Awards – In the Pet and Animal Care sector: Dog Walker of the Year for Paws on the Move pet services ltd. 🏆❤️

Two years ago, Paws on the Move was just an idea, a dream, and a leap of faith.

Starting a business wasn't easy. There were slow weeks, long days, and moments when I wondered if it would ever take off. But with the unwavering support of my family, friends and my husband, I kept going.

I started with just one or two walks a day, and today I'm incredibly fortunate to have a wonderful, loyal client base. The business has grown beyond anything I imagined, and I'm so grateful to everyone who has supported me along the way.

A special thank you to my Grandma Jennifer for trusting me from day one by letting me walk her dog, and to my Grandma Rita for always believing in me and cheering me on.

To my mum and dad, thank you for your endless encouragement, sharing my posts, recommending me to others, and always believing in me.

And to my husband, thank you for working overtime so I could build Paws on the Move. Your sacrifices, encouragement and constant belief in me made this dream possible. This award belongs to you just as much as it belongs to me.

Running a business has taught me so much. I've learned from mistakes, adapted, and I'm continuing to invest in my education by training to become a dog trainer so I can offer the very best service to both dogs and their owners.

Most importantly, thank you to every single client who has trusted me with your beloved pets. Thank you for welcoming me into your homes and supporting my small business. Paws on the Move wouldn't exist without you.

Two years ago, I was hoping someone would book me for a dog walk.

Today, I'm accepting Dog Walker of the Year.

If you're thinking about starting your own business, believe in yourself. Every successful business starts with one customer, one opportunity, and one person willing to take a chance.
