☀️ Equine Summer Care Tips from Our Specialist Kevin Mercer ☀️

With the weather heating up this week, our equine specialist Kevin Mercer, based at Harbro Hawick, has some important advice for looking after your horse:

🐴 Be sure to protect any pink or sensitive areas, especially around the head and heels, with a suitable equine suncream

🐴 Apply fly spray regularly — but always test new products on a small area first, and make sure to read instructions carefully, even if you’ve used the product before

🐴 If flies are a real problem, consider using fly rugs and masks to reduce irritation

🐴 And don’t forget, regular poo-picking in the field helps cut down fly numbers too!
