It is now 5 years this weekend since the first COVID lockdown began with the dictate on Friday 20th March 2020 that all pubs must close that night. What a 5 years it has been for everybody one way or another. Some have been affected more and some less by the pandemic and all the knock on effects since, but one thing is sure life has changed for ever. I thought today would be a good time to tell you a little about our journey. Lexi, the landlady, and her mum and dad, Freda and Nobby, and Lexi's partner, Simon and their girls took on this family adventure when we took over the pub from previous lovely landlady, Elaine, on September 2nd 2019. We had such high hopes to bring the pub back to its full community potential with plenty ideas of what we wanted to do only to have everything put on hold just over 6 months later when COVID hit. Unlike many other pubs we have managed to keep our heads above water with hospitality taking a serious hit and many pubs closing forever because they could not cope with the economic effects that the lock downs had on their businesses. We feel privileged to still be here and able to provide the community venue that we feel all villages should have. We have become aware recently that many new folk have moved into the area and I thought you might want to know that the "slightly scruffy old pub" at the cross roads at the Auchreddie end of the village would be delighted to offer a warm welcome should you want to pop by. We have space for folk to meet for small group activities if you have any such group in mind and Dungeons and Dragons are one such group that meets on a Wednesday. We have also been used for committee meetings and occasional meetings by other groups and are open to any requests you may have. Do pop by and see us. We do a decent selection of craft beers and also alcohol free options and are always open to suggestions of your own. Onwards and upwards... XX
