Well that is wrap for our 2025 camps & retreats - it’s been a blast!

In 2024 we ran 1 camp with Emma Hurworth Equestrian - BHSAI as a test to see if we could deliver our vision. Fast forward to 2025 and we have run an adult retreat, 1 kids camp & 1 teenager camp in August alone!

Our vision was clear in that we wanted to run small niche camps & retreats, we wanted attendees to feel part of our farm, offer a personal service & most importantly we wanted everyone to leave wanting to come back for more☺️

We love the community we are building here at Kilters - thank you to our clients & Emma Hurworth as without your support we wouldn’t get to keep pushing forward with our business plans.

Challenge Awards starting Thursday 2nd October 7pm - starting with Introduction to Horse Care

What do you need to know
⭐️No horse needed
⭐️Don’t need to be a member of BHS
⭐️Suitable for 15yr +
⭐️Can be put towards your BHS Stage 1
⭐️Book covered in the weekly cost
⭐️1hr theory / practical
⭐️ Approx 1 month per award-Catch up sessions available on demand
⭐️Refreshments included

If you spend time around horses, it’s useful to know the basics of horse care and working safely around horses. This award focuses on building your knowledge of what horses need to help them stay healthy, comfortable and happy. You will also gain the key skills you need to confidently and safely work around horses and the yard.

Apparently this small stack of wood is the new table for the barn 🤔

One thing is for sure you certainly need vision to be part of Team Kilters!

We’ll show you the finished result very soon but first we’re having a few days off from the farm ‘to do list’ as it’s been all go since Spring.

🍂 Autumn is incoming as is our next new offering - The British Horse Society recreational awards🍂

We are delighted to announce we will be offering both Challenge Awards & Pony Stars from mid October.

We will have sessions suitable for children, teenagers & adults - drop us a comment below if you would be interested.

When kids camp was just epic, the kids were so cool that you can’t wait to do it all over again ❤️

If your wondering how you missed this years kids camp announcement it was because it sold out before I could make it live on our website - how lucky are we!

Small focused riding groups, homemade food, fun, encouragement & new friendships are just a few ways I would describe our camps here at the farm.

We will be running more in 2026 & will soon be sharing ‘First to know’ list.

Our farm was made to bring people together🥰

The ‘Retreat’ story…..

I’ll be really honest…..I was so nervous & excited about our 1st adult retreat that I was up prepping at 4am on the first day because I couldn’t sleep.

Why…..because we had worked so hard to get ready with many many late nights, investing in our set up but I was still worried we had forgotten something 🫣

What we couldn’t have known was the ladies who would join us would fit our vibe perfectly. They were supportive of each other’s horse journeys, they were funny, encouraged and pitched in to help each other & wanted to enjoy their time away with new found friends.

We are a different type of horse ‘camp’ we are a ‘retreat’ where horse & rider receive the best we can provide.

Over the next few days I’ll cover what you can expect from a Kilters Farm Retreat and maybe you’ll decide to join us in 2026 ☺️

Happy 2nd Farm anniversary to us….a few more wrinkles and a couple more grey hairs but happy with progress ☺️

Thank you if you have supported us again this year - we are 2 years into a 10 year plan but it’s going be worth it (we promise!).

Big news - Major Tom has a new rider!

Milly starts her GCSE’s in September & Lottie is coming along brilliantly and will hopefully be out competing in 2026. We had thought Tom was ready for semi retirement but he’s loving hacking so cue the search for a new rider whilst I fix my dodgy shoulder!

But it couldn’t be just any rider, he needed to stay here on the farm as it will forever be his home and he’s Milly bestest friend so we found the perfect match and have been able to keep it in the family - my lovely sister in law will be saddling up Tom!!
