WHAT IS PONY STARS
Pony Stars is a Junior Challenge Awards scheme helping children to discover, develop and nurture their love for ponies and the outdoors.

Pony Stars enables long-term progression with a range of activities that will develop knowledge, skills and self-confidence. In each group your child will work through sets of challenges that make up topics within set themes.

What do you need to know
⭐️No horse needed
⭐️Don’t need to be a member of BHS
⭐️Suitable for 15yr +
⭐️Can be put towards your BHS Stage 1
⭐️Book covered in the weekly cost
⭐️1hr theory / practical
⭐️ Approx 1 month per award-Catch up sessions available on demand

If you spend time around horses, it’s useful to know the basics of horse care and working safely around horses. This award focuses on building your knowledge of what horses need to help them stay healthy, comfortable and happy. You will also gain the key skills you need to confidently and safely work around horses and the yard.

We’re excited to share that our rare-breed pigs are heading to the butcher and we’re creating just 8 exclusive Kilters Farm Meat Boxes – perfect for anyone who values high-welfare, locally raised pork.
Each £60 box contains around 6 kg of premium cuts, freshly vacuum-packed and labelled

🌭 Three packs handmade sausages – plain, cracked black pepper, chilli or chipolatas

Optional Add-On: Our dry-cured back and streaky bacon (available after a 2-week cure) Discounted to £7 per kg. (Between 350 - 400g per pack) – reserve when you order!

📦 Collection / Delivery: Available once the butcher returns the meat – we’ll confirm dates soon.

What you need to know….
⭐️Will need own pony/horse
⭐️For children 6-14yrs old
⭐️Become a Dartmoor Dazzlers, Welshie Wizzer or a Connemara Champ
⭐️Groups will be split dependent on numbers
⭐️Books will last 18-24 months & need to be purchased as part of the course
⭐️2 books options available
✨Full set which includes book, stickers, badges, rosette & bag £25
✨Smaller set includes book & stickers £14

£30 per session which includes 1hr group lesson & 1hr theory with refreshments included.

Well that is wrap for our 2025 camps & retreats - it’s been a blast!

In 2024 we ran 1 camp with Emma Hurworth Equestrian - BHSAI as a test to see if we could deliver our vision. Fast forward to 2025 and we have run an adult retreat, 1 kids camp & 1 teenager camp in August alone!

Our vision was clear in that we wanted to run small niche camps & retreats, we wanted attendees to feel part of our farm, offer a personal service & most importantly we wanted everyone to leave wanting to come back for more☺️

We love the community we are building here at Kilters - thank you to our clients & Emma Hurworth as without your support we wouldn’t get to keep pushing forward with our business plans.

Apparently this small stack of wood is the new table for the barn 🤔

One thing is for sure you certainly need vision to be part of Team Kilters!

We’ll show you the finished result very soon but first we’re having a few days off from the farm ‘to do list’ as it’s been all go since Spring.

We are delighted to announce we will be offering both Challenge Awards & Pony Stars from mid October.

We will have sessions suitable for children, teenagers & adults - drop us a comment below if you would be interested.

When kids camp was just epic, the kids were so cool that you can’t wait to do it all over again ❤️

If your wondering how you missed this years kids camp announcement it was because it sold out before I could make it live on our website - how lucky are we!

Small focused riding groups, homemade food, fun, encouragement & new friendships are just a few ways I would describe our camps here at the farm.

We will be running more in 2026 & will soon be sharing ‘First to know’ list.

Our farm was made to bring people together🥰
