It’s coming…. Not long now

Jackador are partnering with the Big Bark The Big Bark in Towcester for the first event at the Towcester Racecourse

It’s on the 5th and 6th September over the weekend for. 10am-4pm

Jackador will have multiple ‘have a go activities’ including scentwork, hoopers, parkour and Rally.

We will be doing some live demonstrations of each on the main ring with some of our clients as well to show how they are doing

We will be also presenting several talks on key areas including puppies, Social interactions and scentwork to name a few.

We are also very excited to be inviting both BeeMoreDog and Echo - Pet Services who are demonstrating and participating with thier amazing and ethical knowledge as well.

We will have trainers and behaviourists on site answering questions as well for anyone visiting

So if your in the area come along as they have soma y other stands, demos and everything all about dogs.

Tomorrow Jackador will be at the Potterspury Sports & Social Club Summer Party with lots of Activities and Dog Show. The Weather looks to be perfect to bring your dog along for some fun.

🐾 IS YOUR DOG LEFT OR RIGHT PAWED? 🐾

Just like us humans, dogs can show a preference for using one side of their body over the other, known as lateralisation.

There are lots of fun ways to spot your dog’s preference. Which paw do they offer first? Which paw do they use to hold a toy? Which foot do they lead with when setting off?

We slowed down this video of Clodagh running towards the camera, and spotted that she takes off on her right foot… looks like we have a right-pawed pup! 🐶➡️🐾

But does being left or right pawed actually mean anything?

Research into canine lateralisation is fascinating, and scientists have explored possible links with things such as emotional responses, confidence and even suitability for working roles. However, the evidence isn’t strong enough to say that being left or right pawed makes a dog easier to train, more intelligent or “better” at a particular job.

For everyday training, it’s mostly a fascinating little insight into how your individual dog moves and interacts with the world. 💜

From a training point of view, though, noticing asymmetry can be useful. Does your dog consistently find turning one way easier? Do they struggle to perform an exercise equally on both sides? Training both sides can help develop body awareness, coordination and balanced movement.

So now we want to know…

Another fun-filled day at Jackador incoming! 🐾🚗☀️and you have to watch to the end….

Jason and Woozle are loaded up and ready to go, with a nice early start today so we can get plenty done before the summer sun really gets going. Keeping our dogs cool and comfortable always comes first on these hotter days. 🐶💦

Woozle is clearly taking his role as co-pilot VERY seriously… 👀😂
