So proud of Murray. He's had his first procedure at the vets ( blood test ). We have been doing visits which initially went well but more recently he refused to step in the door. So we were rather worried about today's appointment as it would be his first time being hands on and in the consulting room.
In prep we have been practicing handling, putting his head up, touching his neck, feet etc but it was hard to know what he would be like with others as he is still wary of new people.
To help him the vets suggested some meds before to relax him a bit, we took him for a walk at his favourite field beforehand too.

He did brilliantly. Bit of encouragement (aka cheese) to get in the door but then he let all the things that needed to happen happen with just a few
Squiggles around 😆.

So proud, and yes he did get a new toy for being a good/brave boy. 👏

Thank you to The Vets At Dronfield for being very patient and understanding of him.

Hes now chilling at home on the sofa, probably destroying said toy.

While our clients are still away we dont put photos on, so to keep our reach going ill pop another Murray video up.

His recall is doing well and he loves bounding around on his long lead. He has us laughing the way he jumps around and prances when he walks too. We will have to try and video that at some point.

A little update on Murray on the Angel watch adopters page xx

3 months with Murray!
He was such a scared little lad when he first arrived and it took over an hour to get him into the living room but now he’s so much more confident and he’s so happy (he still has his worried moments.)
He gets on really well with Mitzie and the cats and he’s such a soppy boy 😆he loves a cuddle.
He’s also super smart so he’s learnt quite a few tricks already!
He always has his crazy hour before bed and goes absolutely mental and he pretty much always has a roll on the grass before we go for a walk as well 😂.
He’s also soo interested in the TV, especially when another dog comes on.
We’re so happy we were able to adopt him.
Thank you Angel Watch Rescue and Rehome

He loves rolling in the grass ❤️
Not so much of a fan of the wind in the trees.

3 months with us and its still a long journey.

2 steps forward and 3 back sometimes but when you look back at how he was when he arrived it reminds you of how far he has come (not just in miles).

Still working on vehicles, strangers and going into the vets.

He is the most intelligent yet goofy 🤪 and loving boy. We are very lucky he wasn't just put into the kill shelters in Romania.

I think it must be tea time....Murray says it is anyway 😆

In amongst all the grief lately we completely forgot that on the 6th of June it was our birthday!

10 years old!

10 years of building the business up from the initial lightbulb moment Nichola had one day. From that initial idea to being in full swing with the first client, business name, insurance all by the end of that very same day. Then came the building it all up alongside a full time job and raising young children. Hard work but so so worth it. What started out as just my business Nicholas Holiday Pets has now developed into the small family run business you see today. Bringing on board John and then more recently Erin and Wendy, and a name change to just Holiday Pets to reflect that progression too. We were very proud to build a website and get our very own logo. Then also being able to sponsor Joshuas grassroots football team last year. All big highlights for us as well as all the time we get to spend around animals of all types.

Its been tough at times especially last year and this year. Last year we lost the business page which was definitely a low but the Holiday pets community brought the new page back to life and made it even better. I was so upset when it happened but the positivity from our clients shone through and here we are today. We appreciate all the support over the years we really do ❤️.

We have met some truly wonderful people over these 10 years and some fantastic pets. Some people and pets sadly not with us anymore and it never gets easier. What we do take from these really sad times is the memories and the characteristics those pets and people had and we take all those experiences with us and shape the business going forward. For us everyday is a learning day. We want to provide the best service possible and do it all with friendly, professional and genuine care for pets AND their people.

These 10 years have taught us so much as a business, as a family and as individuals. It isn't just a business for us its our passion. So heres to many more years as the Holiday Pets Team.

Thank you for being such an integral part of the Holiday Pets Community. We honestly couldnt have done it without you all.

From the bottom of our hearts THANK YOU!

This feels ever so poignant recently and just now we find out one of our lovely dogs has taken his journey over the rainbow bridge. I honestly am lost for words and we are completely devastated by the news. Sending lots of love to his family who I know will miss him greatly. We will certainly miss his calm, gentlemanly character and also his giddiness when he saw the other dogs especially his besties. Such a top boy!

Im writing this in tears as I cant quite grasp it all after such a short illness we wont get to go on more adventures. He was a real strong boy.

If theres one thing I know time is not a given. So hug all those pets extra tight and grab each day and make it the best. Be kind always and appreciate everyone around you.

From a very sad holiday pets team.

🤍 Today is World Pet Memorial Day🤍

A time to gently remember the animals who shared our lives and left paw prints on our hearts.
