😢 one last day to go before the summer holidays are officially over and everyone is back at school! And it’s time for me to hand the social media back over to the zoo crew!

But I did say ONE MORE DAY TO GO 🎉
so tomorrow (Tuesday) we will be continuing our summer timetable full of talks and shows.

So if you want one last little treat, we would love you to spend it with us!

And I will be hanging out in reception all day so ask to say hello to me! 💚 I would love to meet you! 🐢

🐒 International Primate Day 🐒

Hey everyone, it’s Pip! 🐢
Today I’ve been learning all about my primate friends here at the zoo!

There are 5 species of primate here at the zoo! Including the world’s smallest monkeys, the Pygmy marmosets! Which I get along great with, because they are small like me! 🙊

Today is all about highlighting the importance of protecting primate species around the world 🌍

Many primates face threats such as deforestation and habitat loss 🏚️🌳

Including the Ring-tailed lemurs who are endangered 💔

💚 Come along to the zoo and learn more about all of our primate friends, and how you can help their wild cousins!

👀 Or maybe book one of our lemur experiences, and meet our lemurs up close and learn all about the important conservation work we do to help the lemurs in Madagascar 🇲🇬

Hello, it’s me, Pip! 🐢

Today is Zoo Awareness Day and I wanted to tell you all about what I’ve learnt since hatching here at Exotic Zoo! 💚🐾

Zoos are about much more than people coming to see animals like me 🐢

They play a vital role in protecting species and educating visitors of all ages (both general visitors and schools through our education programmes) about the importance of the creatures we share our planet with 🌍

From caring for endangered species to inspiring the next generation of conservationists, every zoo visitor helps support this vital work to protect our planet💚

During my first 6 weeks of life as a little tortoise, I’ve seen just how much love and care goes into looking after every animal here at the zoo, from cockroaches to snakes, guinea pigs to lemurs, every creature big or small is given a safe, enriching environment to call home 🏡

So today, on Zoo Awareness Day, join me in celebrating our wonderful world and the amazing work zoos and their keepers do! 💚💚💚

But there’s still a couple of days of summer holiday fun here at Exotic Zoo! 💚

Well it’s not too late to get your fossil on! Our palaeontologist will be doing it all again tomorrow! 🦖

Make your own fossil casts! Break open some fossil nodules, make dino prints, awesome skeletons and Cretaceous crafts!

You can even join him for a super stage show about a brand new dinosaur just discovered!

It’s another very special Thursday and Friday at Exotic Zoo this week as we welcome another amazing palaeontologist to the zoo!

There are some amazing fossil casting activities, arts and crafts, nodule breaking, prehistoric quiz and scavenger hunt around the zoo! You can also catch their stage show on main stage at 2.30!

Come along over the next 2 days for some roarsom activities 🦖 bring along fossils and questions for our expert or just come and have some fossil fun! 💚

Today’s new friends are the dwarf mongoose! They weren’t too sure of me at first but I managed to convince them i’m not a snack or anything to be scared of! 🙊

Have you seen the mongoose? They’ve recently had babies who are exploring their enclosure and growing quickly! Come and see them before they’re all grown up! 👀
