TripAdvisors 2nd Best Zoo in the UK for 2023, 2024, 2025 & 2026.. Celebrating their 30th birthday in 2021, Hoo Farm Animal Kingdom took the huge step of relaunching as Hoo Zoo and Dinosaur World. With over 100 species of animals, 30 animatronic dinosaurs and activities taking place all day Hoo Zoo really is a fun day out whatever the age. m Country Park and over the past 30 years has become one of the midlands premier attractions - even winning National Farm Park of the year along the way. In 2004 the farm became a licensed zoo and hasn’t looked back. Now the zoo is home to not just sheep, cows, pigs and horses but other zoo favourites such as Meerkats, Lemurs, Servals, Caracal and even Wolves. Hoo Zoo and Dinosaur World is extremely passionate about conservation with a strong message throughout the zoo of conservation through education. This is put across through the fun informative meet and greets that take place but also the renowned animal experiences (advanced booking essential). Whilst being great fun, the new dinosaurs are an important part of this message with it being more important than ever that steps are made to stop us going the way of the…..well dinosaurs! A quick update from us. ❤️

The individual we referred to in our earlier post has since been in touch to apologise for his comments and has removed his review. We've accepted his apology, removed our post, and as far as we're concerned, the matter is closed.

Now we'd much rather focus on the real heroes of Monday's events...

🚒 Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service.

From the moment they arrived, they were nothing short of outstanding.

They worked tirelessly in incredibly difficult conditions to bring the fire under control, protect neighbouring buildings and help ensure the safety of our animals and staff. Their professionalism, calmness and determination throughout the incident were truly remarkable.

What makes it even more special is that many of the firefighters who attended had only been here a few months ago, kindly donating old fire hoses and ropes for our lemurs to use as enrichment. On Monday, those same people returned—not to deliver gifts, but to help save our zoo. It's a reminder that behind every fire engine are real people who genuinely care about their community.

While Monday was one of the worst days in Hoo Zoo and Dinosaur World's history, their actions undoubtedly prevented it from becoming something far worse. Every firefighter who attended should be immensely proud of the job they did, and our entire team will be forever grateful.

We also have our own plans to show our appreciation over the coming days, and we can't wait to share them with you.

It's a fantastic family day out, with live demonstrations, activities, opportunities to meet your local firefighters and a chance to show your appreciation for the incredible work they do every single day.

We're pleased to let everyone know that Hoo Zoo and Dinosaur World is open as normal today from 10:00am, and we'd love to welcome you back. ❤️

We have been completely overwhelmed by the kindness and support we've received following the recent fire. So many people have asked if there's anything they can do to help.

🚨 Fire Update - 14:45 🚨

We are saddened to announce that several stick insects, a snake and a hedgehog have died as a result of this morning’s fire at the zoo.

These animals were privately owned by the zoo’s owners and have never been on display to the public. The owners are devastated at the loss of these animals, but would like to thank Shropshire Fire and Rescue for all of their efforts in trying to extinguish the fire and for ensuring that the fire did not spread to further parts of the site.

Two of our owners were taken to hospital earlier today as a result of smoke inhalation, but they have since been discharged and remain well.

We can confirm that all of the zoo’s animals remain safe and well and are being continually monitored by our dedicated team of zoo keepers.

🚨 Fire Update 🚨

We would like to thank Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service for their assistance with a fire in our office block this morning.

We can confirm that the fire is now out and that no zoo animals were harmed in the fire.

Two of our owners were taken to hospital as a precaution due to smoke inhalation. We can confirm that they are now fine and have been discharged.

Our team have been monitoring the animals across the site to ensure that they all remain safe and well.
