Well… that wasn’t quite how I planned this pairing! 😅🕷️

After deciding that staying inside her enclosure was apparently optional, Macchiato made a break for freedom and ended up exploring the ceiling! 🙈

Once the runaway bride was safely recovered, she was introduced to the handsome little Legs from MM Invertebrates. ♥️🖤

Despite the chaotic start, the pairing was successful, and now the waiting game begins! 🤞

Fingers crossed that this beautiful pair will give us lots of gorgeous Phidippus regius Bahamas babies in the near future. 🥰

Macchiato may be a giant compared to poor little Legs, but he certainly rose to the challenge! 😅

Here’s my beautiful spiny flower mantis enjoying a fly.

They’re one of my favourite mantis species. They look so delicate and flower-like, but they’re incredibly efficient little predators when feeding time comes around 👀🪰

Everyone, meet Legs 🕷️ — a handsome male Phidippus regius Bahamas who has come to pay a visit to our beautiful girl Macchiato. ♥️🖤

The introductions will be made this weekend, and now we’re keeping everything crossed that these two hit it off! 🤞

This is Mindy 🖤

My beautiful Phidippus regius Bahamas female and the spider responsible for one of the biggest surprises of the year 😭🕷️

I paired her around 9 months ago and, after waiting so long, I honestly thought she wasn’t going to produce a fertile sac.

Then one day while doing my usual checks, I noticed tiny little babies moving around inside the nest 👀

Safe to say she proved me wrong!

Such a gorgeous girl and an even better mum 🖤

Another egg sac has hatched! 👀🖤

These tiny little spiderlings are from Cappuccino, my Phidippus regius Florida.

What’s amazing is that this is her second egg sac, laid only around 2 weeks ago. Her first babies have only recently moulted and dispersed and now we’ve got another batch arriving!

I definitely wasn’t expecting baby season to get quite this busy 😭🕷️

Looks like it’s full-on baby fever at Occult Exotics at the moment 🖤

Well this was a surprise! 👀🖤

I paired my Phidippus regius Bahamas female around 9 months ago. As she was a little older than I would usually pair, I wasn’t shocked when nothing seemed to happen.

She later laid an egg sac, but after all this time I assumed it wasn’t fertile.

Fast forward to today…

While doing feeding and watering rounds, I spotted tiny little black dots moving around inside the sac 😳

BABIES! 🕷️😭

I genuinely wasn’t expecting this and I’m so excited to see how many little ones emerge over the coming weeks!

Just look at how tiny they are 🥹

It’s always such an exciting stage when they start venturing out and exploring the world for themselves.

I have a feeling I’m going to spend far too much time watching these little ones grow 😭🕷️

Maple has laid an ootheca 🖤👀

This beautiful Phyllocrania paradoxa girl spent 7 days with her male, so fingers crossed this ooth is fertile 🤞🏼✨

It’s always amazing getting to watch moments like this!

Hopefully tiny ghost mantis babies in the future 👀🖤

A tiny little Phidippus regius Florida spiderling peeking out from the nest for a drink 🥹🕷️💧

The babies haven’t dispersed yet so right now I only get these tiny little peeks of them through the webbing 👀

I can’t wait until they all start coming out properly! Fingers crossed for a nice sized clutch 🤞🏼🖤
