Does your dog find other dogs a little too exciting, overwhelming or difficult to ignore? 🐶👀

Our Social Class is designed to help you better understand your dog’s body language and build their confidence around other dogs, helping them become more neutral, calm and comfortable in social situations. ❤️

✨ Beginners: 10am–12:30pm
✨ Advanced: 1:30pm–4pm

🐾 Dog of the Week – Chief 🐾

Chief is a very timid German Shepherd who had a difficult start to life, but week by week he continues to show just how far he’s come. His confidence is growing, and we’re so proud of the incredible progress he’s making.

This week, Chief achieved some fantastic personal milestones in agility class. He confidently tackled the seesaw multiple times – something he hasn’t felt comfortable doing before he and took it all in his stride! Even more heartwarming was seeing him choose to approach one of our trainers, who he’d previously been unsure of after one memorable session involving some very noisy waterproof trousers! 😊

Moments like these might seem small to some, but for Chief they represent huge steps forward. They are a testament to his courage, the patience and dedication of his owner, Nikki and the power of taking things at his own pace.

We’re so proud of you, Chief. Keep shining – you’ve got this! 💙🐾

🌟 Dog of the Week : Meisie! 🌟

Last week, Meisie and owner Sherry attended both the Social Class and their regular training class and we couldn’t be prouder of the progress they’re making.

Meisie is a lovely girl who can sometimes get a little overexcited and jumpy, but Sherry has been putting in so much hard work and consistency to help her manage those big emotions. Last week’s sessions really showed just how far they’ve come!

Even with other excited dogs around and the energy levels running high during activities, Meisie stayed focused and in control. At no point did her excitement become too much, and it was fantastic to watch her make such great choices throughout both classes.

This is exactly why we celebrate progress, not perfection. Seeing the confidence, teamwork, and commitment from both Sherry and Meisie is what K9 of LC is all about.

Well done, Sherry and Meisie! Keep up the amazing work, we can’t wait to see what you achieve next! 🐶🎉💙

🐾 Dog of the Week: Opie! 🐾

Opie joined us to work on his reactivity towards other dogs, and although he’s only at the beginning of his training journey, he’s already making fantastic progress.
One of the biggest highlights so far has been seeing just how calm, focused, and controlled Opie can be around another dog. That’s a real testament not only to Opie’s willingness to learn but also to the brilliant handling and commitment from his owner, Holly. 👏🐶
Training is all about building confidence, consistency, and trust, and Opie is showing that with the right guidance, amazing things can happen.
We’re so proud of how far he’s come already and can’t wait to see what the next few weeks bring. Keep up the fantastic work, Opie and Holly, you’ve got this! 💙

🌡️ IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT 🌡️

Due to the extreme hot weather forecast this week, all classes have been cancelled and any 1-2-1 sessions will be rescheduled.

We plan to resume as normal from Saturday, provided the forecast doesn’t change.

If you have a 1-2-1 session booked, we will be in touch to arrange an alternative date and time that is convenient for you.

The welfare of our dogs always comes first and training in these temperatures is simply not safe. Please take extra care of your dogs during the heatwave:

🐾 Ensure they always have access to fresh, cool water
🐾 Walk early in the morning or later in the evening when temperatures are lower
🐾 Avoid hot pavements – if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws
🐾 Provide plenty of shade and cool resting areas
🐾 Never leave dogs in cars, even for a few minutes
🐾 Watch for signs of heatstroke, including excessive panting, drooling, lethargy or disorientation

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Stay safe, keep cool, and give your dogs lots of rest during this hot spell. ❤️🐶
