☀️ *Keeping Your Dog Cool This Weekend* ☀️
Hot days can be tough on our furry friends, so here are a few easy ways to help your dog stay safe and comfortable:
🐾 Avoid the heat - Walk early or late, before 8am or after 10pm, or not at all
🐶 Avoid too much play
💦 Provide plenty of fresh, cool water
🌳 Stick to shaded areas when outdoors
🏡 Use cooling mats or damp towels to lie on
🍦 Try frozen treats or ice cubes as a cool snack
🚗 Never leave your dog in a parked car — even for a minute

Best way to deal with a heatwave, for owners and pets, is to just keep cool and relax.

🏃‍♂️💚 Josh is going the extra (100km!) mile for Macmillan Cancer Support — and we couldn’t be prouder! He’s swapping scrubs for running shoes as he takes on an ultra marathon to raise funds for this incredible cause.

Don’t worry — this goofy face is just Looky waking up from his sedation nap! 🐶💤 He popped in for a nail clip (not his favourite thing in the world!) so we gave him a little help to keep things stress-free. �

We always keep a close eye on our patients as they recover — and of course, there’s plenty of time for cuddles too!💕🐶

This week will see temperatures rise. It is very important to remember that our furry friends can become quickly unwell in the hot weather. If you think your pet may be overheating, it’s important to act straight away, as heatstroke can quickly become very serious. The first priority should be to cool your pet down before heading to the vet – we call this approach *cool first, transport second.* It's also essential to contact the vets for advice as soon as possible.
