Fur-Get Me Knot Dog Grooming

Fur-Get Me Knot Dog Grooming Passionate about making dogs look and feel their best Hi,

I'm Becky and I'm a dog groomer in Swindon.

I have been working with dogs for over 17 years at a local boarding kennels. During this time I have developed extensive knowledge on all aspects and behavior of dogs. I started to groom dogs around 6 years ago and this became a strong interest and major focus for me as I developed my career. I have always had a love for dogs and caring for them in the best way possible. Grooming has so many healt

h benefits for dogs, it's not just about how they look. Grooming and caring for a dogs well-being has become a great passion for me. I've worked with many different breeds and dogs with a variety of temperaments! I have found nothing more rewarding that gaining the trust and creating a mutual bond with both nervous and aggressive dogs. This enables them to not only become comfortable with the grooming process but to enjoy it, which in turn brings me a great deal of personal satisfaction. I have passed my City and Guilds level 2 and am thrilled to have had the opportunity to open my own Salon in Basepoint Business Centre, SN5 7EX. I am delighted to welcome Lauren (Pawsie Paws) to the new Salon and look forward to many years of working together! It is very important to me to have someone working here with the same passion, skill and love for dogs and what we do! Despite having our own businesses, we work well as a team and can work with families of dogs or individually.

💙 A little update…

Firstly, I just want to say a huge thank you to all of my wonderful customers for your continued patience, understanding and support. Once again, I’ve had to move appointments around this week, and I really do appreciate everyone who’s been so kind and accommodating. I never take it for granted.

Unfortunately, I’ve had a difficult few days. I was admitted to hospital last night with a suspected stomach ulcer after some internal bleeding, so I’m currently waiting for further investigations and an endoscopy. At the same time, my old boy, Cracker, is also very poorly. He has another appointment at the vets this week to discuss what’s best for him and whether there are any remaining treatment options. I’m also having to prepare myself for the possibility that it may be time to say goodbye.

As you can imagine, it’s an incredibly emotional and overwhelming time, so please bear with me if I’m a little slower than usual replying to messages or organising future appointments.

I’m hoping to be fit enough to return to work on Wednesday as planned, and I’ll keep everyone updated if anything changes.

Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart, for your kindness, patience and continued support. It genuinely means more than you know. I couldn't do it without all of you! ❤️🐾

❤️ A Little Honest Update…

Sorry, it's another long one 🫣

I wanted to be open and honest with everyone, as many of you may start seeing adverts from me over the coming weeks.

As most of you now know, the other groomer who rented a table within my salon has now left. I am absolutely gutted to have lost a dear friend and a fantastic groomer. I had already been advertising for another groomer before this, so I am now looking for two self-employed groomers to join the salon.

Some of you may also see adverts relating to the salon itself. Please don’t panic if you do.

The salon is a much bigger space than I need as a sole groomer, and it was always intended to be shared. When I first opened, my circumstances were very different. Since then, life has changed significantly. I now run both my business and my home as a single mum to two wonderful neurodivergent children, while also managing my own health conditions and upcoming surgery. Like many small business owners, I have to make sensible decisions to ensure my business remains financially sustainable.

That means I need to explore every option available to secure the future of Fur-get Me Knot Dog Grooming Services. My priority is, and always will be, keeping my business going and continuing to provide the calm, caring, one-to-one grooming environment that so many of your dogs know and love.

Whether that means finding the right groomers to rent the extra tables, adjusting how the salon operates, relocating in the future if necessary, or considering other options for the premises, I promise I will do everything in my power to keep Fur-get Me Knot going. This business isn’t just my job—it’s something I’ve poured my heart into, and I will fight for it.

If you’ve been affected by recent cancellations, or you’re waiting to hear from me, please know that I haven’t forgotten about you. At the moment I’m juggling a lot behind the scenes, and with the school holidays now here, replies may take me a little longer than usual. I’m working through everything as quickly and fairly as I can, while trying to make the best decisions for both my clients and my family.

To every single client who has supported me, recommended me, trusted me with your dogs and shown me kindness over the years—thank you. Your support means more than you’ll ever know, especially right now.

This has been one of the toughest periods since opening the salon, but I’m not giving up. Thank you for bearing with me while I navigate the next chapter, and thank you for continuing to support my little business. ❤️🐾

📢 Important Salon Update

Firstly, I would like to sincerely apologise to anyone who has been affected by recent appointment cancellations or uncertainty.

I wanted to explain the situation, as I appreciate there has been some confusion.

As many of you know, there has been another self-employed groomer renting a table within my salon. Although we have worked from the same premises and appointment reminders are sent through the same booking system, we are completely separate businesses and each manage our own clients, bookings and appointments independently.

Unfortunately, I have now been informed that she has left the salon with immediate effect. This has been completely unexpected, and I appreciate that it has left many clients with unanswered questions and cancelled appointments.

As the salon owner, many clients naturally contact me when there are problems, and I never want to ignore anyone. While I may not always be able to resolve the situation, I do want to be open and honest about what I know and keep everyone informed as much as I can.

I completely understand how frustrating and upsetting this is if your dog’s appointment has been affected, and I am truly sorry for the uncertainty and inconvenience this has caused.

Many of you know how much I care about both my clients and their dogs, and this is not the level of service I ever want anyone to experience. Unfortunately, I am already working at full capacity and have also had to rearrange some of my own appointments recently due to illness, childcare commitments and the recent extreme heat. Because of this, I simply do not have the capacity to take on another full client list at such short notice.

I appreciate that many of you associate the booking system and the salon with my business, and I completely understand why this situation has caused confusion. Please know that I am doing everything I reasonably can to manage the situation, but as we are separate businesses, I am limited in what I can do regarding another groomer’s appointments.

I have been advertising for another self-employed groomer to join the salon and will continue trying to fill the vacant tables as quickly as possible. However, at this stage I cannot promise replacement appointments for any cancelled bookings.

Thank you so much for your patience, kindness and understanding while I work through what has been an incredibly difficult and unexpected situation.

I truly appreciate the continued support from every one of you.

Thank you, as always.

Please bear with me if you haven't heard about appointments etc! I'm playing catch up on admin at the moment with the hot weather, schools closing and rescheduling due to medical appointments! I WILL get back to you all asap! With the kids breaking up this week too I'm just a little overwhelmed/behind!

Unless you hear otherwise all appointments are going ahead now that I have a portable air con unit and I will book in further appointments over the next few days!

I hope everyone is surviving in this second heatwave 🥵

Love to all ❤️
