6am & painting the new Bunningham Palace shed roof white 😂

Image 3, Is a photo of a previous roof we did. Actual shed needs repainting 🙈

Why, you might ask?
Because light colours reflect the sun ☀️
It actually does help!

🐰 We must do all we can to keep our bunnies out of dangerous heat, as they cannot regulate temperatures like humans.

Our sheds/hutches are painted in light colours, their rooves in light colours & any shade provided, such as bed sheets or parasols are also cream/white in colour 😉

PLEASE NOTE: Today is predicted at 36c+ in our area of Suffolk, no bunnies will be outside for that.
They get outside time, early morning & late evening in hot weather 🏃💨

🌞 Good Morning Everyone
☕I'm now having a brew (8.50am) as i've been on the go since 6.30am, getting bunny jobs done.

🌡️Today's westher apps, say temperature's of 23-25c in full sun & breeze, which is lovely, may i add 😀
I always expect the temp go up a few extra degrees.

🐰 So today, were going to make the most of it whilst we can & the bunnies will be monitored outside, shaded with of course, with eveything they need 😉...

⛱️ Most importantly, shade.
💦 Water in bottles & Bowls
🥣 Usual feed of, dried grass/hay, pellets etc

And later in the day as temps get up;
🍇 Fruit for extra hydration
🧊 Ice bottles

Don't forget that I'vee recently done two posts for summer heat, extreme heat & heat stroke to help over the next few days
Take care xx

🫂 BOND STORY 🫂 ( 11 /2026)

Just to recap about the bonds done, for our returning customer who weve successfully bonded some fantastic pairs for...
💙 Bertie & Millie 💛 (Sept 2025)
💙 Billie & Dottie 💛 (Sept 2025)
💙 Basil & Bramble 💛 (Jan 2026)

In early May we tried to bond the first 2 pairs..
💙Bertie & Millie💛, 💙Billie & Dottie💛
Unfortunately 💛Millie had a pure hatred for the other boy 💙Billie & their was just no breaking that barrier down 😫

THIS BOND, was to try & bond...
💙Billie & Dottie💛, 💙Basil & Bramble💛

⭐ Day 1 consisted of all but one, having a go at one another, 💙Basil was a good boy & never even retaliated.
The worst was 💛Dottie's behavior.
However nothing vicious & they all part well from a nip or scuffle episode.
We also had lovely calm times & neither pair were keen on mixing with the opposite pair, as yet. 💙💛, 💙💛
So i decided to seperate them for the night & continue again the following day.
They were showing all the signs that i can continue to work with them 😃

⭐Day 2- With a very long day, it was clear, that on this occasion couple 💙Billie & especially Dottie💛 were to be the troublemakers of the group! (Oh, how the table's have turned).
In the afternoon it was great to see, that 💛Bramble has learnt to spot the sign's before 💛Dottie goes to nip & that she's quick enough to move away 🤣
💛Bramble has become more confident & relaxed with moving about the area, she will also protect 💙Basil if 💙Billie gets to close 💕 I decided to continue the good vibes with a long watchful night.

🎥 Here is a video of them
https://youtu.be/2Bl45UezbZ8?si=YtsWYQf1h5lZdB8c

FIRST NIGHT: A good night, no fallouts or fights. We were still getting the, 💛Dottie, lunge & grunt but this doesn't escalate which is good. All in all, very happy 😊

⭐Day 3- I was feeling very posative for a good day after a great first night! Unfortunately this wasnt to be.
A majority of the day, was bad behavior from 💙Billy & especially, Dottie💛🙈 making the other pair wary to move about much.
I hoped with more time, they would be more accepting & not just when it suits them.
However we did get through their second night, much like the first, thankfully.

⭐Day 4- As a trial, i decided to increased to full area size, in hopes to ease the pressure of 'claimed areas'. This was because yesterday, 💙Basil & Bramble💛 rarly left the large litter tray area because of the other two.

Again, food was scattered, with hay & water bowls either ends. Everyone moved about, especially 💛Bramble 🎉
(Which was what I was intending for, whoop whoop!)
After eating, I added a wooden tunnel for some interest (rather each other), & also it put a bit of a privacy barrier between them.

It became clear that 💙Billy, now only has an issue with Basil💙 & is fine with Bramble💛, so abit of progress.
All I could do is keep correcting the unwanted behavior & hope with time, things will settle more, to make this quad perfect.

In the afternoon it was lovely to see 💙Billy enjoying the extra space, with the occasional Binky 😃 to which 💛Bramble too, joined in.
However 💛Dottie's behavior hadn't got better & was wondering if it ever would 🤔

⭐Day 5-I believe we have the very being change in the air 🤞 And, although 💛Dottie was doing her slight warding off to 💛Bramble, what's different is ...that it's not such an aggressive lunge & it's ending their.. No bite of front paw scuffle from her!
Pair 💙Bertie & Bramble💛 are moving about more freely today & even all 4 buns sitting seperatly at times, instead of constantly in pairs for safety.
⭐Day 6 was the same outcome, had we stagnated again?

⭐Day 7- Thankfully there were less reaction still with all of them & becoming closer to one another when relaxing 🎉
🎥https://youtu.be/LAx2NOnWj2w?is=qNeC3jZIs-sepZPs

⭐From day 9, things became are a lot calmer 🐰 The bunnies continued to interact better with one another & actually enjoy each other's company, just a little more, each day 🎉
Even 💛Dottie joined in, sitting together 💕
It was so lovely, to see 💛Bramble feeling comfortable enough to be so close with her back to 💛Dottie before leaving myself on day 13 💕

Last Monday, we sent a very happy bunny parents home, & chatted about plan ahead, already being a pro with our aftercare advice, to continue what we started, for the next few weeks. We always advise what to look out for & how to correct if/ when needed, whilst being at the other end of the phone for advice📱

I received another beautiful gift, thank you so, so much, it's absolutely stunning 🐰

UPDATE "A bit of a scuffle when I brought them home but they are all settled and getting on well now. They all seem very happy & all came running to me for there trests in the evening."
This is judg brilliant news 😁💜

WOULD YOU LIKE BONDING HELP?
⭐ Not got the time..
⭐ Too scared to try & fail..

⭐ Tried & not succeeded..
⭐ Wanting a second opinion..
I am here to help 🎉

⚠️ Amber Extreme Heat Weather Warning!

We have Warmer weather in high 20s & into 30s for the next couple of weeks.

⚠️ Amber warning for Monday - Thursday for mid to high 30s, maybe even reach the 40s.

Although i've already done two posts to help keep your bunnies as comfortable as possible & signs to look out for, in regards to heat stroke.. I thought this exact weather link, could help give you exact temperatures for your area🌡️

🔥 SEVERE HEAT 🔥
Regular checks are going to be so important in severe heat, even if your bunnies are in a shady area 🌳

🍉 A tiny piece of fruit every hour, during the hot hours, will help with hydration 💦 & electrolytes 🫐🍓

Did you know?
Rabbits cannot sweat, which is why the heat is so dangerous to them.
In stead they have to paint, loosing fluids & salts & disapation via their ears. (Hot ears is not a good sign).

👂 Moisten ears with a damp tissue or cloth can be help cool & be soothing, for them.

🚿 You can also gently spray mist your bunny, with a plant, water trigger type bottle to instantly cool them down.

🖼️ Some of the idea's I'm the image below, may also help.

Take care 🐰
