Samps&Co are hosting a dog pawty to celebrate our second birthday🥰🥳

Last year we had everything ready to go but the weather had other plans☀️🥵 So this year, I’ve brought the date forward in hopes we dodge those soaring summer temperatures and finally celebrate properly🎊

And we’re going bigger, better and even more pawsome than ever!🐕✨

🐾 Plenty of treats (for dogs and humans!)

As many of you know, Samps&Co has grown so much since our first birthday, in fact we’ve doubled in size! 🥹 I’ll be keeping a close eye on pawty logistics nearer the time to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Important bits to note:
🐾 This is a free event exclusively for current and previous Samps&Co dogs
🐾 All dogs must remain under their owner’s supervision unless agreed otherwise
🐾 Children are welcome but please ensure we are not putting little fingers in the faces of pups we do not know!

💭 For my nervous dogs and their humans:
I completely understand this can feel a little daunting. I’ll chat with each of you individually to make sure your dog feels safe, comfortable and happy on the day. We’ll put the right measures in place so everyone can enjoy the pawty at their own pace🐶💕 If you have any worries at all, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m here to support you 🤍

I’ve spent today feeling a bit like a monkey grooming the pack. Rummaging through fur and plucking out ticks before they’ve had a chance to latch onto the skin!😱

With the warmer weather and longer grass, ticks are becoming increasingly active. It’s really important to check your dogs regularly, especially around:

🐾 Ears
🐾 Neck and collar area
🐾 Armpits
🐾 Groin
🐾 Between the toes

Please check your dogs both before and after walks. Particularly if they’ve been exploring long grass, woodland or heathland.

It’s also a good reminder to ensure your dog’s tick prevention medication is up to date. Prevention is always easier than treatment!

Thankfully, most of today’s unwanted hitchhikers were caught before they could settle in, but they’re definitely out in force at the moment 👀

Hi everyone🐾

I wanted to let you know that I will be unavailable on Friday, 17th July due to a personal matter that requires my attendance elsewhere.

At present, I only expect to be unavailable on this date. However, as the timing and duration of this event are outside of my control, there is a possibility that I may need additional time away from work. If that happens, I will let affected clients know as soon as possible.

Today’s tally:

🐶 17 dogs
🐾 3 group walks
🐕 1 solo walk
🏡 2 daycare dogs
💩 Approximately 601 poos collected
🎾 58 balls thrown (and retrieved, eventually)
🚐 One van re jig
🦴 One treat cupboard re-stock
📸 Countless photos snapped
❤️ And a whole lot of wagging tails

Some days are long, some days are muddy.

Some days I question how one person can carry so many leads, tennis balls, poo bags and treats simultaneously.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to recharge my batteries before doing it all again tomorrow🐶💛

🦸‍♀️🐾 Superpowers of a Dog Walker 🐾🦸‍♀️

People think dog walking is just walking dogs 🐶

What they don’t realise is that we possess a very specific set of superpowers:

🔑 Knowing exactly which key belongs to which house without checking the label.

🐶 Identifying a dog purely from the sound they make, barking optional.

⚡ Leashing up six dogs in under 20 seconds whilst simultaneously preventing a tangled lead incident.

🏃‍♀️ Speed running dogs from the front door to the van before they spot a squirrel, cat, leaf, bird or literally anything else.

🥾 Taking muddy boots off whilst holding leads, opening doors and preventing dogs from redecorating a hallway.

📸 Holding a treat above your head with surgeon level precision to capture the perfect group photo.

🩺 Remembering every dog’s allergies, medications, injuries, quirks, favourite treats and life story.

🌪️ Successfully fitting harnesses to dogs that insist on spinning like tiny furry tornadoes.

🚐 Knowing every shortcut, back road and traffic dodging route in the local area.

💩 Picking up multiple poos with a single poo bag and somehow surviving the experience.

🎾 Spotting a missing tennis ball from 200 metres away.

👀 Having eyes in the back of your head and somehow knowing exactly which dog is being suspiciously quiet.

☕ Functioning before sunrise on nothing but caffeine, determination and the promise of wagging tails.

We’re basically superheroes. Just with more mud and poo! 🦸‍♀️

🐾 Group Review Update 🐾

I’m currently reviewing my walking groups again to make sure they continue to work well for all dogs involved. This will only affect dogs that have not requested specific days or time slots.

The main reasons for the review are:
• Ensuring the right group dynamics, particularly as I introduce and support developing puppies.
• Making sure all dogs are in groups where they can thrive and enjoy their walks.
• Reducing commute times where possible, allowing me to spend more time with the dogs and keep the service running efficiently.

If anyone is wondering what today’s weather looked like…

☔ Rain.
🌧️ More rain.
⛈️ A storm.
🌧️ Rain again.
⚡️ Thunder.
🌧️ Followed by some additional rain for good measure.

Safe to say both me and the dogs spent most of the day wondering whether we should have invested in a small ark🚣‍♀️🐶

Despite the weather doing its absolute best to test us, all of the dogs were fantastic. Mud was embraced, puddles investigated and everyone carried on as if torrential rain was a completely normal way to spend Tuesday.

The highlight of the day was definitely our final walk. As the thunder rolled in, I was incredibly proud to see every single dog handle it so well. No panic, no drama, just a pack of happy dogs getting on with their adventures🐾💛

Meanwhile, I was busy checking weather apps every five minutes and wondering if I should start growing gills.

Hi all, I need to cancel the remainder of today’s walks. I always try to work when I’m feeling under the weather but after our first walk, I don’t feel I’m well enough to continue. I apologise for any inconvenience caused. I should hopefully be on the mend by tomorrow❤️🐾
