The lake has gone! A few dry days and we are back to being a field! The bit by the "bridge" nearest the pond is the main squelchy bit, but otherwise it's back to it's usual status πŸΎπŸ’–

The puddle is still puddling! I thought it was clearing on Wednesday, but Thursday's torrential downpour reinstated it 🌧️

The side furthest from the road is the least squelchy. The bottom copse/nature path's pond has also breached its banks and made a bid to take over that section 🌊

My dogs are all part-fish and delighted, but I appreciate not all dogs are like mine.

Think I'll need to rename it to Shawbury Dog Puddle at this rate.

After the relentless rain, the main field has an impressive puddle by the tyres. The side furthest from the road is the driest part. The bottom nature bit is also ok, but the pond has breached its banks and is also a big puddle where the little "bridge" is.

I know some of your dogs are like mine, and are part-fish and happy as anything in the water. I know some aren't. So wanted to share before people come!

Wellies recommended!

This lad was unsure of other dogs. Initially had a to-do when I brought out my white one. We set expectations. We offered corrections as a consequence for the negative and rewarded the positive. Within the hour, he was walking within touching distance of mine, with both his humans. We rotated so we all had all the dogs and he learnt the rules are the same no matter what dog, no matter what person.
Super proud of dog and humans πŸΎπŸ’–

This rescue patterdale is a typical terrier. Super clever. Super interested in everything. And was unclear of what was actually wanted.
Change of equipment. Introduction of key words. The change in his and his humans' body language. Everyone is now more relaxed. Everyone understands the asks. Clarity works. Consequences work.
Can't wait to see his progress πŸ’–πŸΎ

Four years ago this lump of nonsense joined my pack.

Dobby. Dob. Sir Dobbalot. Lord Dobbington of Dobbington Park Hall.

The dog who had only been outside and had tried to bite.

Instantly became an Indoors dog and wanted to follow me everywhere, so much so I nearly changed his name to Shadow. He suits Dobby too much though.

Did he trash my house in the first month when I had to do a client visit? Yes. Did I wonder if I'd done the right thing taking him on? Also yes. Have I also thought that with all of the pack at some point? Absolutely. Could I imagine things without any of them? Not on your nelly.

The dog who is now one of my immediate dogs to help with client training sessions.

Couldn't be prouder of my boy. Happy gotcha day, Dob. Here's to many more πŸ’–πŸΎ

Hey everyone. The timer that holds the gates open has gone a bit squiffy with the super cold temperatures and my usual override mechanism has frozen shut too πŸ₯Ά
If the gates are closed on your arrival, please use the buzzer on the right hand side of the gates and I can let you in 😊

Follow-on with this girlie, who, just four weeks ago, had never played with a ball; didn't like people outside of her family unit; and thought recall was an optional extra. Just look at her now 😊
Her humans are dedicated to her training and it shows. Her confidence is shining through and she's starting to be a dog. Rescues can come with their own plethora of issues, but with clear guidance and leadership, their confidence can bloom and they can flourish πŸ’–πŸΎ
