Meet Biscuit 🐾A brave little fighter!

Biscuit is a very special rescue puppy who’s captured everyone’s hearts at our South Ockendon practice. 💛

He was born with his umbilical cord wrapped around his legs, leaving him with hind limb injuries and in need of urgent treatment and round-the-clock care. Thankfully, our lead vet and branch partner, George 🩺, stepped in to give him the best possible start and took him in for himself! He took him home and, with the help of our nursing team, hand-reared him back to health.

Biscuit is now doing brilliantly, growing stronger every day, and is a much-loved member of the South Ockendon team. 🐶✨

This Mental Health Awareness Day, we’re reminded that the unconditional love of pets can play a big part in supporting our wellbeing. Whether it’s a wagging tail after a long day, a purr that brings comfort, or simply getting out for a walk together, our companions remind us to slow down and take care of ourselves.

At Medivet, we’re proud to care not just for pets, but also for the people who love them. Supporting each other; colleagues, clients and communities is at the heart of what we do.

Let’s celebrate the bond between people and pets, and the role it plays in better mental health.

Say hi to this prickly little guy! This brave little hedgehog was brought into our Medivet Beeston practice after being injured by a strimmer and needed an amputation.

Garden wildlife often need a helping hand and small changes, like checking long grass before strimming, can make a huge difference. 🌱✨

We would like to introduce this very brave boy, Arthur. 🐈

Arthur came into out South Ockendon practice recently for a tail amputation. There are many reasons a cat may need an amputation and in this case it was because Arthur was found as a stray and had a severe infection in his tale. The team made the decision to amputate so Arthur could live a happy and healthy life.

MEET THE PATIENT:

This is Paolo, he’s a 5 month old kitten who came in for castration in July. This is what he did during our day with us!

First he had a health check with one of our nurses to check he was fit and well for the procedure.

He then had his IV catheter placed to give us access to the vein for his medication 💊

He then had his castration procedure.
He enjoyed lots of cuddles and recovered well.

The last picture is him now, a month later after his procedure🐈❣️

🌟 BORIS 🌟

He has been a super brave boy over the last couple of months, after feeling a little under the weather to then having to under anaesthetic for surgery❤️‍🩹

Everything went well and much to his mum’s delight, he recovered wonderfully!

Thank you for all the cuddles you’ve given to our staff Boris, look at this handsome chap posing with this award😻

We have had this little man bought into us today.
He’s not neutered and not microchipped so we are unable to contact an owner.

He was found on Ramsey Drive.
