🐾Providing Mental stimulation for your dog🐾
Top of the list must be sniffing activities. Dogs love to sniff; they are very skilled and practice most days (have you noticed that your dog can show you every step the neighbourhood cat has taken in your garden long after it has gone?)
✅You could scatter some food in the garden, play hide and seek with a toy, a Kong or a member of the family.
✅Remember to slow down on your walks and allow more time for sniffing. As the weather improves try and find a new walk or go on one you haven’t been on for a while.
✅We would also like to add that sniffing is very tiring for your dog’s so it’s important that you provide opportunities for your dogs to have a sleep afterwards, especially puppies and provide plenty of water, so they can rehydrate.

Sniffing was at the top of our list for mental stimulation but a very close second must be chewing.
All dogs love and need to chew but especially puppies.
Chewing and licking requires concentration and focus, and it is also very calming. It can be a stress release.
Try ….
✅To vary chews, there are lots of different natural products in the market.
✅Using a lickiMat
✅Popping your dog’s meal in a Kong
✅Stuff a Kong and freeze it
✅Freeze a carrot or broccoli stalk
✅Puzzle toys

Freddie. For those of you that follow our page you might remember this young man, he was “guess the breed” that we did a while ago. We thought we would keep you updated on his progress. We have ask Fred to let us join in with him whilst tracking, as you can see he loves it. This is the perfect way to have other people and dogs around and Freddie not worrying about it. He has already joined our group sessions and is throughly enjoying himself.
Secondly as you can see, he loves Mandy’s girls, Cookie and Ivy, so the girls took Freddie out and about for a little support.
Well done Jane and Freddie, so very proud of you both 🥰
