Well..... that's the end of the heatwave.

As responsible dog parents, we spend as much time as we can keeping our dogs as cool and comfortable as possible..... however there is always at least 1 dog that will lay out in the sun regardless!

Let's see your pups enjoying the sunshine last week!

Classes will be back and running as usual this week now it has cooled down

Im really proud to introduce you to our ever expanding tracking team!

Every single one of these individuals and their handlers are absolutely incredible. As you can see, we do not discriminate against different breeds. We have a huge variety from Spaniels, Labradors and Shepherds right to overseas rescues, Terriers and Daxys!

Through our training we have directed one of the most natural behaviours a dog can do, and have a lot of fun while we do it!

Well done to all of our team for your work so far! I can't wait to see what the future has in store for us.

And if I ever loose Michael..... I know a whole team of dogs who can track him down for me....... .

We were blessed with slightly cooler temps at lunch time today. Yet it was still a little too warm to take the doggies out for a walk, but we were able to have a few mins of play time in the gardens today!

Instead of sharing the same old "don't walk your dog in this heat" post that everyone seems to be sharing, a lot of which seem to be produced using the same AI template......

I thought I would reshare the results of a little experiment I did a couple of years ago in Ryde.

I personally found it very interesting, the difference in temperatures of different substrates is pretty shocking.

The temperature that would burn your dogs paws after 60 seconds of contact and leave sores and blisters is 49 degrees, so our top 3 culprits in this experiment are:

🔥 Pavements
🔥 Sand
🔥 Gravel

The only substrate I didnt manage to get which apparently is the worst of all is artificial grass. I also know my decking gets extremely hot in the sun...... I think I may need to re-do this experiment with a larger range of substrates.

Its food for thought isn't it!

Thank you so so much to everyone who came down to see us today at The Bembridge Street Fair!!

I am so pleased we were safely tucked in the shade under the beautiful trees!

We had soooo much fun fitting harnesses and talking to lots of wonderful people about classes and training. We are really looking forward to hearing from you all!

Now we are absolutely pooped and ready for an early night before heading back to work as usual tomorrow.

The forecast is very warm again for Tuesday and Wednesday, therefore we will be implementing our hot weather policy.
