🐴 COMBINED CLINIC CHARITY DAY 🐴

Come and join Ponytalesdorset for their first charity event of 2025 whilst raising funds for World Horse Welfare.

Riders of all ages and abilities are invited to take part in what promises to be an exceptional day of coaching and fundraising, with all riders receiving a LeMieux goodie bag!

Riders under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Today really has been a lovely day ☀️

All horses have throughly enjoyed their day in the sun snoozing and recharging their batteries, much needed after some of the horrid weather!

We’ve had some new horses join us recently and have settled in like they’ve always been here - this really does fill us with pride as our calm and stress free environment really helps make the transition as easy as possible for the horses.

It is also worth a mention whilst we receive monthly visits from Ag+ to continuously monitor and improve our bio security by disinfecting our stables and shared spaces, we can also spray between visits with our hand sprayer - something that really helps if we have a new arrival between our scheduled sprays 😎

This afternoon Scott joined one of our liveries out in Wareham forest for a change of scenery with both horses receiving some serious smooches when they got back 💕

Then this evening Ellie with her mare and Hannah with our yard managers horse sharpened up their long reining skills round our grass gallops - all in all a really lovely way to wrap up a day of much needed sunshine 🙌

We like to do all we can for our guys to make their job easier and we know they’ll back us on that!

Ps did we also mention there is minimal sweeping on the yard as we’ve got a blower 😏 (more about that life and time saver another day)

So when a rough suggestion came in on a possible hay trolley - we thought okay 20+ horses to hay AM and top ups as/when needed it’s a valid idea🤔…then we hit a snag our “speed bumps” into our barns (no we aren’t building ramps) so that was out the window.

We did however want to share the expert diagram drawn up to depict why it wouldn’t work - enjoy 😆

It’s random acts of kindness day today and with that in mind it was lovely to receive a message out the blue from one of our longstanding liveries today 💕

It’s lovely to feel appreciated and we know we are…but this little extra something really goes a long way and gave us all such a boost today 🤗

Ellie-Rose Fry taking some time to make sure this special mare gets all the itchy scratchies 💕 ….and that’s one of the many things we love about having Ellie work here is that she takes the time to also do the little things that can mean the most!

Guess what season we’re in…abscess season! Whilst it is unfortunate it provides a valuable learning experience for our apprentice Hannah and groom Ellie to get to grips with foot anatomy and really pin down their poulticing skills - whilst getting a lovely stinky surprise 😅

STAFF TAKE OVER

It might have gone unnoticed by some (not the fact that it’s Christmas) but that it’s the boss man’s birthday 🎉
It seems all the best people are born on Christmas Day!

But we felt it was important to recognise Scott Etches on his day, and for how much he does that goes unsung.

As a small team we share all the best and worst moments together - crying, laughing, wins, losses, high and lows, grafting and at times turning the impossible into possible (one thing we all have in common is a very distinct inability to make ourselves lunch - by 10AM collectively we’ve usually decided where we’re all going for lunch and what we’re having!
We’re all say for our New Year’s resolution we’re start making lunch…but we won’t, we never will, we like our Tesco meals deals too much!

You work tirelessly to create an environment for everyone to feel seen, supported, and confident you actively encourage new ideas and suggestions from all of the team (something that is wildly refreshing in an age old industry).

You are compassionate and understanding during difficult times and you just get it - you just get it, that sometimes life happens and when it does you step in to offer additional support.

There is not one day that goes by that collectively we aren’t laughing at something and there is never a day that actually feels like “work”, never a day that we dread seeing the boss man - we aren’t sure there’s many employers out there that can say that their staff actually miss them on their days off…not many at all!

We’re sure at times you must sit in quiet contemplation (peek the chair photo) and watch us all yabbering on thinking who an earth do I employ they’re all mental - but having you as the boss really does make us the happiest bunch we ever could be at work.

You work tirelessly to make Valley View a place where people want to be, where we want to be, to create a sense of community something that not many yards have!

None of this would be possible without you Scott - absolutely none of it.

So from all the team - 🎉HAPPY BIRTHDAY🎉 and THANK YOU 💕
