One space remaining for five or seven day livery at Valley View Equestrian Ltd in Lytchett Matravers - BHS Highly Commended.

Well versed in caring for a diverse and wide array of horses, inc those on long term medication/medical needs.

Stables are situated in our American barns that are accompanied by deep straw or shavings beds.

Bimonthly decontamination/disinfectant of all stables and shared spaces by Ag+ Biosecurity specialists.

Summer and winter turnout (group/individual). All field management carried out in house, all grazing is rotated/rested and routinely poo picked.

Fields are securely fenced with mains electric and automatic water troughs.

Hot/cold wash bay and solarium (with drying and infrared functions).

60mx20m Fibremix arena recently re fenced with floodlights and mirrors with exclusive use of show jumps.

20m high fenced floodlit daytrack round pen and private grass gallops.

Our private gallops are open all year round and once harvest is completed our crop fields are also then opened up for private riding.

During the drier summer months show jumps are moved into a spacious grass field and set as a full course.

Reduced cost of using our partnered cross country course Stour XC (10 minutes travel from the yard).

Staff are qualified first aiders, hold safe guarding certification, professional qualifications and real industry experience.

Head coach Scott owner of VVE alongside our yard manager, Aimee who has groomed to 4* level work closely with owners to ensure all horses individual needs are met.

Alongside our other experienced grooms Hannah and Fleur who assist in the day to day running of the yard and horse care.

The team combines over 30 years of experience within the industry to bring horses and owners the very best quality of care.

We support owners of all abilities and create a welcoming, calm and supportive environment for you and your horse to enjoy and relax during your time with us.

You make others feel seen, supported, and understood a gift not everyone has.
You have time…time for those around you and time is one of the most precious things in this world and you share it with many.

You have grown Valley View into a place of comfort and created a space for many to enjoy their horses.

Of course it comes with its own challenges some that people will see, and some that others will not see.
You have crafted something to be proud of, all while keeping your sense of humor intact (which honestly you deserve a medal for).

One space has become available for five or seven day livery 🐴

Valley View Equestrian Ltd is a BHS Highly Commended livery yard offering Five day and Seven day livery packages and services.
We are set in a quiet and secluded valley on the outskirts of Lytchett Matravers.

▪️We currently cater to a diverse and wide array of horses, alongside those on long term medication/medical needs and are very adapt at tailoring our care to meet any and all needs.

▪️ Stables are situated in our spacious American barns that are light and airy accompanied by deep straw or shavings beds.

▪️Bimonthly decontamination/disinfectant of all stables and shared spaces by Ag+ Biosecurity specialists.

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Groom to join our team at our BHS-approved full livery yard in Lytchett Matravers, Dorset.

We cater for up to 30 horses and offer excellent facilities and working conditions.

This is a PAYE employed position (not freelance).

Hours:
40 hours per week, typically 07:30–17:00
One weekend day is required as part of your regular rota and is non negotiable.

Transparency is important to us you will receive a full employment contract, paid overtime, full and paid holiday entitlement and bank holidays worked repaid in lieu - we stimulate this as sadly it is still a rarity within the industry.

As it is coming to that time of year you will not be required to work Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year’s Day - also a rarity within the industry!

Role Responsibilities:
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
* All aspects of day-to-day horse and stable care
* Long-reining and lungeing
* General yard care
* Potential for ridden work, though this is primarily a non-ridden role

What We’re Looking For:
* Solid horse-care knowledge (if you hold basic knowledge we can provide on the job training)
* Confident in handling horses of various sizes and temperaments
* An individual who works well within a team and communicates effectively with colleagues and owners
* A proactive attitude, able to work efficiently during busy periods — especially through the winter months

You will be supported by the Yard Owner, Assistant Manager, and a dedicated team. (We’re also conveniently close to Starbucks and Greggs for those sweet treats on cold days!)

Additional Requirements:
* Own transport is essential, as we are not directly served by public transport
* Please consider the nature of the role: winter weather will be cold, wet, and the horses can be fresh.
* Commitment is important and you must be reliable — if you are unsure about working outdoors through the winter, currently considering a career change outside of horses, or may need frequent last-minute absences, this role may not be suitable. A trip to today and what an amazing experience. The team has worked tirelessly throughout summer and with the worst of the weather yet to be thrown at us we took a few well deserved hours off the yard and treated the team to an early Christmas present 🎁 - let’s hope these guys don’t fancy a career change to polo 😆
