I am a freelance Rider, Trainer and Instructor based in Lytchett Matravers, Dorset. I am passionate bout my work and have over 15 years of experience training and producing all types of horses and ponies both in England and New Zealand. I use a Natural Horsemanship approach to my training which makes me a patient and understanding Instructor. I am accomplished with both young horses and nervous ri

ders alike and am dedicated to helping you and your horse feel confident and happy with one another. My experience includes working with Natural Horsemanship expert- Gary Witheford in Wiltshire for 3+ years, breaking in and working on horses with behaviour problems. I then went on to work as Yard Manager and Rider for the late Adele Schardt at The Eleda Stables, Somerley for 4+ years, starting and producing young horses to compete in British Eventing. I have done an eventing season as Head Girl for professional event riders Gubby Leech and then for Sharon Hunt. I then went over to New Zealand for 4+ years to manage a successful trekking business in the South Island. I moved back to the UK last August (2015) and worked with Nicky Stephens breaking in many of her New Forest ponies. Well, what a difference a day makes…(and the weather…!!)
All ‘perfectly’ behaved ponies today 🥳
8 ridden (one lunge lesson with the incredibly focused Dexter👌)
Baby Tino’s first ever trip out to a different arena today, eyes on storks but then he just took everything in his stride and was such a dude 😎
Jester was amazing schooling round the dressage boards and worked beautifully for me 😇
Taylor got Roops looking like a HOYS show horse 🤩
And Melody was a cool as a cucumber long reining round the forest and then letting me trot on board her round her field 😊
That puts me in a much happier mood, so I’m still living the dream 😜❤️

Well… thank goodness for this rain today but it was not a day for perfectly behaved ponies for me 😵‍💫 I had a few spicy, opinionated, fire breathing dragons to ride today 🐉 😖 everyone’s very excited about the rain and perhaps what it is doing to the grass!!! 🍬🍬🍬
But I can’t really complain can I… everyone is still alive and kicking, so all’s well that ends well and tomorrow is another day 😬🤞☺️

Jester using 100% of his power yesterday, jumping in Moira’s fab SJ clinic at Moreton.

Gorgeous baby Solo doing a grand job hacking on his own in the plantation with his owner, Charlotte 🤩
It’s a process getting there at the moment as we have to walk alongside a main busy road, just for a little bit, to get to the country lane, then we long rein him to the plantation as he’s had a few nappy moments since being grown up and going out on his own, then we get on him and cruise round the forest ☺️
Solo is an offspring of Carl Hester’s Olympic Gold medal winning dressage horse- Uthopia, so I think he is going to be something quite special 😍🦄

What a cracking week of work 🤗...a busy one and schorchio 🥵🥵🥵 but I've loved it 💃
I had some lovely messages yesterday from 3 of my clients that went out competing... Taylor and Roops won their M&M class and the Tarrent Gunville Challenge Cup🥇🏆
Esme and Bruce won their very first Novice show class and 2nd in hand class 🥇🤩
And Dexter absolutely smashed it and got Ridden Champion then Supreme Champion at the M. S. Charity Show🎉🏆🏆🥳
I am so proud of them and their amazing horses, this was so good to hear 🥰 All these kids (and their parents/team) work so hard, so these results were very well deserved 👏❤

As well as riding and teaching, I also do a bit of freelance grooming for a few people in my area.
For one particular client, I help her out 3 mornings a week atm, this is moving horses between fields and poo picking. Luckily everything is within quite close proximity to each other and so when needs must, (during the school holidays) I do have to bring the mini boss along with me first thing in the morning!
But we've got a pretty good routine going now, this is her spot by the tree in the shade, sitting in her camping chair, with her mini table, eating her breakfast while watching some of her shows that I've downloaded onto the iPad...!!

Living the dream yesterday at work, riding and working so many lovely horses ❤ and I rode the gorgeous Jester round the fab Sparrowbush SJ arena 🤗
Knowing how spooky and exuberant he is in the arena at home and out hacking, I had expectations of him not loving the fillers so much, so I made sure I wore my brave pants!!
But.... he absolutely excelled himself and was amazing, jumped everything i asked and managed to put his power to really good use 🤩
Very exciting times ahead for Dan and Becky Andrews homebred 🥳
