😺 Vet visits can be a major source of anxiety for cats, but with a few thoughtful strategies, you can make the experience much calmer for your feline friend. Here’s a comprehensive guide to help:

🧳 Before the Visit
- Choose the right carrier: Use a sturdy, well-ventilated carrier that opens from the top. Line it with familiar bedding or clothing that smells like home.
- Make the carrier a safe space: Leave it out in your home regularly with treats or toys inside so your cat associates it with comfort, not just vet trips.
- Use pheromone sprays: Products can be sprayed inside the carrier 15–30 minutes before travel to help soothe your cat.
- Limit food beforehand: Avoid feeding your cat a few hours before the visit to reduce the chance of vomiting or toileting during the trip.

🚗 During Travel
- Secure the carrier: Place it on the car seat or floor to prevent sliding. Cover it with a towel to reduce visual stimulation.
- Drive smoothly: Avoid sudden stops or loud music. Keep the temperature comfortable and the environment quiet.

🧘 After the Visit
- Let your cat decompress: Once home, give them space to relax. Avoid loud noises or visitors for the rest of the day.
- Positive reinforcement: Offer treats, gentle affection, or playtime to help them associate the experience with something good.

🌊🐕 Flea treatments first, doggy paddles later!

Just a heads-up for fellow dog lovers: if you've recently applied a spot-on flea treatment that contains fipronil or imidacloprid, it’s not the time to let your pup dive into the nearest lake or pool.

These treatments are designed to be absorbed through the skin, and getting your dog wet too soon can wash away the medicine before it has a chance to work. That means your furry friend could be left unprotected—and you might have to reapply the treatment, Contact us to learn about our alternative treatment plans to keep those fleas away!

📅 General rule of thumb with spot-on treatments:
- 🕒 Wait at least 28 days before any swimming or bathing
- 💧 No splashing, rain play, or soaking during this period
- 🐾 Read the label/data sheet—some products may have specific instructions

Keep your pup dry and comfy now for a carefree, flea-free summer later! 🐶☀️
