‼️ WARNING TO ALL DOG OWNERS ‼️
Please be aware there are now cases of Parvovirus in Hemsworth, it has been reported around Willow Drive and the top field right next to it. Reports of it being in Featherstone & Pontefract too.
Parvo is a highly contagious viral disease that mainly affects dogs, especially puppies. It attacks their gastrointestinal system and can be fatal if not treated quickly.
Parvo can be caught through direct and indirect contact with infected f***s.
To prevent parvo, make sure your dog has all their vaccinations, and try to limit their contact with other dogs and places where infected dogs might have been. Also, cleaning and disinfecting any areas your dog uses can help a lot. Parvo is super tough, but using a bleach solution can kill it.
Using a tray with bleach to disinfect the bottom of your shoes in and out of the house is recommended.
Parvo can survive outdoors for a pretty long time, even months or up to a year under the right conditions, because it’s really resistant to changes in temperature and weather.
SYMPTOMS
🦠 Vomiting
🦠 Diarrhea (often bloody)
🦠 Loss of appetite
🦠 Lethargy
🦠 Dehydration
If you spot any of these symptoms in your dog, please get them to a vet ASAP 🏥
Also, if any of my customers with an upcoming appointment notice any of the symptoms in your dogs, DO NOT bring them to the salon.
