Baby Edwyn came in today for his very first Puppy Introduction session and he absolutely stole my heart! And licked me to death 🤣

We had lots of fuss and cuddles, played games, explored the salon and introduced some of the equipment too. The dryer and bath noises were definitely a “run away… come back for a treat” situation 🤣 but that’s exactly what these sessions are for. No pressure, just gentle positive experiences at their pace.

Puppy Introductions are so important for laying the foundations for future grooming. In the first session, I don’t focus on grooming itself. Instead, it’s all about helping them build confidence with the environment, sounds, smells, handling and equipment in a calm and positive way.

The goal is for them to leave feeling safe, supported and happy to come back again 💕

Some dogs need a little extra reassurance, and Charlie is one of them 💕

The dryer isn’t his favourite part of the groom, so instead of expecting him to just “deal with it”, I meet him where he’s comfortable… even if that means sitting on the table with him while we get through it together.

The same goes for his feet. He’s sensitive with tools around them, but over time we’ve been building trust, going at *his* pace, and celebrating the small wins along the way.

Grooming isn’t always about perfection, speed, or doing things exactly by the book. For me, it’s about making dogs feel safe, listened to, and cared for in the process.

And before anyone says it… yes, the editing on this reel is questionable 😂 but the sentiment is there hahaha

A dogs sense of smell is incredibly powerful, which is one of the reasons I choose not to use heavily fragranced pawfumes or colognes in the salon.

My focus will always be on healthy skin, healthy coats, and a calm, comfortable grooming experience over strong artificial scents

Bath time for Hiccup 🛁

Every bath here is tailored to the individual dog and their coat’s needs.
Hiccup had two rounds of shampoo, starting with a basic cleanse to remove dirt and prep the coat, followed by a hydrating shampoo chosen specifically for him to help nourish both the skin and coat. I then finished with a conditioner for that extra moisture and softness ✨

You’ll also notice how careful I am around the eyes during bathing 👀 Shampoo in the eyes is uncomfortable and can create a negative association with grooming, so I always take extra care to keep the experience as calm and comfortable as possible.

A good bath isn’t just about getting a dog clean… it’s part of caring for their skin, coat, comfort, and overall wellbeing 💕

I completely forgot to grab a before photo, which is a shame because he had a lovely little transformation today. At his age, it’s not about achieving a perfect groom; it’s all about keeping him comfortable, happy, and feeling his best 💕

Baby Evie 😍

Evie is only 7 months old and has already completed her puppy package and 2 full grooms 👏

She's still very curious and a bit wiggly, but every session, she gets better and I am so proud of her 💖

Just to let you know I've got a few upcoming days off;

1st to 4th May

7th to 11th May

6th to 14th June

I'm celebrating my 40th Birthday this weekend, so messages will be limited during this time, and also whilst I'm on hols haha 😄

I'm also super busy at the minute so if you've not booked your next appointment please try and book in asap because my current lead time is 6 to 7 weeks ✂️
